Hardware Is it possible to record in stereo through MIC input?

Hiya people, I was playing around with my laptop today, and realized that the MIC input allows me to make very good record with a dual 3.5mm audio jack cable.
The only issue here, is that it seems to only be mono, recording the left channel I think. It's a bit annoying, considering that the sound quality is excellent.

Anyone knows if I could get a stereo record from this MIC jack?

I doubt that it's possible, unfortunately. However, if you have a really good pair of headphones, you can plug it into the microphone port and it will act as a stereo microphone
