Hacking Is it possible to download ROMs onto Wii?

Is it possible to download ROMs onto a Wii console? That way you wouldn't have to mod your wii and burn discs to play wii backups...

No, that is not possible. And i guess it never will. The wii even
doesn't have enough RAM to hold 4,7 Gig.

its possible in the future, u could rip the game and trim it, like on xbox
were alot of games 200-500mb

but its kinda useless, storing one game on ur HD at a time, even if it was possiable

Are you that stupid? How would the Wii who has less than 1GB of Memory for GAMESAVES store a 4.7GB ISO Image of a disc. And you know what, Wii Games aren't ROMs they're ISOs. And don't say SD slot because there is NOT ONE SD card that is MORE than 4GB and isn't an SDHC card. The Wii is not compatible with SDHC.

No. Even if you sacrificed a goat or something to magically make a Wii iso into a 5mb rom, you'd have to mod your console in order to play it anyways.

I don't see anything there that suggests that he was talking about downloading roms on a Wii. Although I'm not really sure what the significance of his comparison is.

The closest thing to "downloading roms" would be streaming games over a network, which was possible on GC using some exploits and the broadband adapter.
However, this hasn't been done on the Wii yet.
