Hacking Is it okay to update on 3DS? I'm on Luma

It keeps asking me to update. Wasn't the method of installing Luma like immune to being disabled with updates? If so can I update or must I stay low?
I'm on system menu 11.5.0-38U, the latest Luma, and on a New 3DS XL

Generally speaking, if you're on the latest Luma you shouldn't have any issues with updating. That being said, it's a good idea to make a NAND backup before performing the system update.

It's interesting that you're being asked to update even though you're on 11.5. Did you downgrade or delete any system modules or titles?

At any rate, I would suggest just making a NAND backup and then updating as normal.

When you delete a system app (i.e. download play, camera, mii maker) the system shows an update to install the app again. Even when you are on the latest version. It's probably the case here. And there is no problem to update.
