Is anyone here familiar with gamehacking.org?

I found the site today and I'm wondering how exactly it works, since I'm still too much of a scrub to understand. Is it like romhacking.net in that you can download patches to play on your computer, or consoles like a Wii?

Like with this one, it seems you select a bunch of features or cheats then download the xml file. But I don't even know what an xml type file is.

Gamehacking.org is mainly a cheat code repository, not so much "patches", for things like Gameshark or Action Replays or for emulator's built-in cheat support (which also usually includes support for Gameshark/Action replay stuff)

The file you downloaded is likely for an emulator, that you can load while playing XYZ game you're emulating so you can activate cheats.

The only thing that now works on that site is the database. The registration has been disabled, as well as logging into the the main site.

I wonder why they locked it down like that.

I wish I could help but I cannot. I have hacker statues there and have since 2013 and I miss posting codes in the forums.

They have Codes from the Devices for all Systems, for all the Code Devices for whatever System. But for recent Systems, depending the System, they have Users who look into the Memory, and create Codes. Users like @nolberto82 have done awesome Codes.

There is one PSX Game I have been curious about that is Listed in the Database. MK2 for PSX, but it is the NTSC-U Beta, which I tried looking up, but can't find anything on it...so how did that User create Cheats for it?

I agree. Probably the best hacker on there. He even at some points would take code requests. I asked him for a WTW code for Chrono Trigger SNES because all the others ones had bad side effects and he made a much better one.

The Discord Thread has TONS of Requests, so they are probably busy figuring out Codes, and also trying for others. Posted a Request for a few Games, even a Rapid Fire Code for both the N64 and NS Port of StarFox. Thinking it will be a while.
