Tip about SDXC
The majority of SDHC card readers support SDX hardware, just most OSes and devices can support the FS, exFAT. IIRC, 64GB SDXC cards can be formatted as Fat32 and work fin in many devices.

2 tb is too much for a handheld
hold all music in the world
or pirate many games
i dont think ninty would add that support
There's more music in the world than 2 terabytes.

It could be added in a firmware update look at the wii , it was not sdhc compliant but then they patched it and it was. i dont expect it will be any time soon though but it is possible

SDHC slots will only support UHS 1[04] (U1)
Which is similar to Class 2 (C2), etc. for sdhc's today but faster.
SDXC will get faster than U1 obviously.
And cards at that speed will probably have capacity limits.

Even with that, I doubt it will ever happen.
