Got it, so Im patching v6174. Does it matter if it says "Currently Installed v6400(STUB)? will that be overwritten or anything?
remove the stub version, having a higher version prevents lower ones from installing

lol wow so now I'm dabbling in on thinner ice. (Sorry being so detailed I already bricked my wii before and payed $$ to get it fixed sooo). Okay, remove the STUB because its garbage data and this wont kill my wii? Then patch IOS60 by installing v6174 for great success? (because touching IOS70 is evil)

Your on system menu 4.2 so your system menu uses ios 70
ios 60 on your console is a stub and serves no purpose at all as it was only used by 4.0 and 4.1 system menus

You need to patch ios70.

You can use dop mii to do it. Just load up dop mii and then find ios70 in the list and apply all the patches to it.If you have wifi you can just download ios70 through the app otherwise you need to download it yourself so the program can use it.

Or you could download the modify 4.2 pack from xzxeros guide and install the following wad from it

IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad

That actually makes perfect sense because I am on 4.2. But the other guy on the thread is telling me not to touch IOS70 so Im really confused. I also don't just have a stub for IOS60 I have a stub and another version.

Just patch ios70 and ignore the other guy.

You can even look at xzxeros guide which thousands of people use and it even patches ios70 for system menu 4.2 and no one has had issues with it.

I'm using a patched ios70 on system menu 4.2 myself without any issues.

You can have two versions of ios 60 installed on your wii.

sorry i was right on the first version of my last post on the previous page but doubted myself while playing a game XD
anyway what it originally said was to check the pack in xzxer's guide to see if its different from what you've done, thats what I used to update and modify. I never patched IOS70 but i guess it came pre-patched

Alright cool. So I can patch IOS70 and ignore patching IOS60 as well as ignore removing the STUB?

just patch the ios and stop asking 5million questions, its simple and didnt need 3 pages of confirmation. Its a common problem answered a milliuon times.

I apologize. If it has been answered a million times then someone should of told me to patch IOS70 right away, instead everyone was telling me completely different things. I'm not going to risk bricking my wii, I don't have BootMii or any back up.
