Hacking IOS60 Brick - Black Wii

You could reflash it with an Infectus modchip. Or get in contact with DeadlyFoez, I believe he does an Infectus reflash service.

Well shipping it to the USA and back to germany would cost a fuckton of money. Instead I could just officially let it repair by nintendo. D:

I think there's no way to reflash the NAND it without advanced soldering skills...
The best way is to return it to the store - and get a new one while complaining it never worked!

Did the same with a friend's Wii on which the preloader 0.29 installation crashed. Had also a black screen on boot. 10 days later he got a new one from nintendo. Did the softmodding thing again and finally it worked.

You know seeing these hundreds of ios60 stub bricking lots of wii's, how come nobody has made preloader the ability to run off of ios 249? Or does it still need the system menu to fully function?

I'm sure some genius could make it happen and work.

I think there's in deed a way to make preloader work with ios249, you only have to set it up!

even if preloader used IOS249 or whatever one you wanted to use that wasnt the system menu one, most people who stub the system menu IOS do it at the same time they install the system menu. and when they install the system menu, poof, there goes preloader. no matter what IOS it was using, it isnt there anymore. and what if they were stupid enough to install preloader without the IOS it needed to run? youd still get a big fat brick caused by a app that needs a certain IOS to run, and that IOS isnt there.

for the original poster, just do like others have said and take that shit to the store and exchange it. the idiot at walmart cant tell that you already turned it on and killed it. and its christmas. he really doesnt care if you broke it or not. he just wants to be at home opening his new black wii and hacking into it.

dop-ios will only brick if you had preloader/priiloader installed before dop-ing. and that is easily fixed by just re-installing preloader/priiloader.
how do I uninstall preloader I got a brick by patching IOS 60 with DOP iso

hold reset on boot and launch the HBC and reinstall preloader
but I can't go to HBC I press HBC from preloader and it says

"error autobooting HBC.title not installed?"

and I have HBC installed

I fixed it I went to preloader and I went to setting and changed IOS to ios249

just return it and say it might be the bumby road on you way home and you put the box on the rear passenger seat

I think you are a good contender if there was a contest for the fastest brick on receipt of a new Wii.

LIke i said in my first post lie to the store and say it didn't work and return it.
Nah. I'll just buy another wii at another store, cram the defect one into the new package and return it. "Blahblah, don't need it - niece already got one on christmas eve etc." :q
The problem is, if I would say it is/was defective I'm like 110% sure they'll send it to nintendo, and then I'm fcked.

just return it to original retailer. it was a defective christmas present. they have to just replace it. u cant swapp it with another. the serial gets scanned when u buy it. that trick ended in the ps1 days.

you should listen to the people telling you to take it back to the retailer. even if nintendo could see that the wii had HBC, which they probably can't because of the stubbed ios60, it's not like they're going to come to your house like the f**king SS

Hey darkangel5000,

I had a similar problem in the past, read the complete story on this thread.

The only difference is that I was running FW 4.0 and removed IOS60 (you have FW 4.1 and a stub IOS61).

Do what people said, if you could, go back to the store and tell them the Wii never turned on, otherwise you'll need to stick with the repair process.

BTW, I'm not sure how the Nintendo repair process works in Germany, but I suppose it's similar to the one from USA.

At worst case, you should have a working Wii again in about 10 days... ;-)

Good luck!

Nah. Different process here in Germany. The Item has to be sent in and repaired by Nintendo one time, so you can apply for a replacement console. And at least three times before you can get your money back

So if I would have taken it back to the retailer and said that it was DOA, they'd must send it to nintendo first - which would cost me 210€ (US$300), which is more than the cost of a new black wii, since I've modified the system files :/

So Instead my father (well he just looks too grandpa-like to be suspected by the employees) bought a new Wii one day, I opened the package at home with huge care, placed the old wii in there and he returned it the day after. He was like "Durr Hurr, my grandson wanted not a wii but a playstation 3 by microsoft (Imagine a strong german influence on the english spoken words - so it sounded liek "ply-staadschioon dry von miikrosoft" (put this all into the microsoft-sam text-to-speech thing D:)), so I have to return this :/"

Well, whatever,
My Sister has a new Wii now and everyone's happy :3
