Hacking IOS for Dummies Question

Hi,

My friend modded my wii and I have read a lot of information online but I am still not grasping how this works.

I understand different games use different IOS. What I do not get is what this actually means. So when you install IOS 249 and theres IOS 53 55 56 etc. How do you select which one to use when you want to play a backup?

I have neogamma and use that to play my backups. I usually load it through homebrew. However newer games do not seem compatible so i my understanding is that I need to update the IOS. This is where I realized how lost I am. Can anybody help provide a good overview of where I am using these? I understand how I install them, I just do not understand the end product and how I use each one.

Sounds like you're on a pretty low system menu. You can use Dop-Mii to update your IOSs and that should help you.
