I'm trying to get my copy of monster hunter 3 to work from my hard drive, I haven't played it yet, but I've got it ripped. I'm told I either need ciosx 249 rev 19 base 37 (I have 38 installed, will that work or do I need to downgrade?). Or I'm told I need cios223 or 222 [37+38]--which I don't have.. I have installed cIOS222[38+37] but only cIOS223[38]. So when I went to set it to load 222 in configurable usb loader there were two of them, 222 mload and 222 yal. Which one do I need? Or is it safe to use my ciosx 249 rev 19 base 38 (not base 37 as suggested, but the newer 38)?

cIOS must be IOS37 based....IOS38 doesn't work....

either 249[37] or 222[37+38]-v4...i personally have only tried the latter with USB Loader GX (set to load game using 222 - works great).

if you can obtain Hermes cIOS installer v4, that will give you what you need for 222....Hermes v5 installer doesn't work unfortunatley....

or get the ciospack from the xzxero guide for an offline install.

hope this helps...

yeah, I wasn't sure if 38 would work or if it had to be 37, thanks. But I do have 222[37+38]-v4 installed, I'm just not sure if I need to set it to load with 222 mload or 222 yal

USB Loader GX didn't give me options of different 222's....

you won't break it by trying one, then the other...if neither work, i don't know what to say if you have 222-v4 installed....

Alright, I'll just go try it, but if anyone knows what the actual difference is, I'd still like to know what's actually going on

actually, I used cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad.. is that different than 222[37+38]-v4..? If they are different, where can I find the latter?

Just named differently, but the same thing. What you are doing is install a custom IOS, as IOS 222, using base 37 merged 38 (37+38). 38+37 and 37+38 are the same thing. As long as you installed v4, then you're good to go.

they're the same thing....

the .wad is the file you'd install that cIOS with (with Wad Manager, etc.) for offline installs....

as long as it's installed, you should be able to direct your USB loader to load MH3 with that IOS (222) and it *should* work....

Ok, I wasn't sure if they were two separate things or not merged differently based on which one was used as the base, but if they're just the same with different names then I'll just go enjoy
