having a intel graphics usually means you don't have a graphic card and the CPU is doing all the work...

Without any kind of graphics card you wouldn't be getting any output for your monitor. So while Intel's integrated option may not be very powerful there is an actual graphics card integrated on the chip.

maple story is a 2D game, usually 2D games are not much demanding.. it should be fine..

however, my experience with "will this game will run on my computer" had been on a try and miss...i just download a game and try...
sometimes requirements are not accurate.. lots of times they were wrong for me... and with the freetime i had i could waste 1 hour downloading and installing a game to check if it does work...

Your first problem lies in whether the Intel HD card on your system supports the latest Open GL.
Intel HD 3000 and below do not support the latest OPEN GL which may prevent certain games from operating period.

Your second problem is even if the game runs, will it run at a reasonable frame rate.

Just about any game can be played on any GPU but whether the frame rate is playable is another question.

If you're just fishing for an answer to make you feel better than chances are the game will run.
If you're looking for a real world answer, than chances are the game will run so slow that it's not even gonna be playable.

You're essentially trying to run a high end game on a netbook equivalent laptop with no dedicated GPU, common sense will tell you the answer to your question.

I tried this website, said Maplestory won't work. I tried another, like San Andreas (works fine, I downloaded it) and it said it isn't. I call BS.

But then again OS X is notorious for maximising the potential of hardware. With a PC this likely isn't the case.

Also yeah, upgrade your RAM, 4GB is definitely not enough. Alternatively if you have another computer with better specs just use that, this isn't a worthy investment.

Maple story would work in almost everything, if it works in a GeForce FX5200 (as said in the recommended part of your table), I think it will even work in a modern piece of wood with a display.
(Yeah, the FX5200 is a piece of crap for today standards, even compared to current Intel IGPs)

You are right about the RAM, regarding the Intel HD it is quite passable if you run old games even in Windows.
It will not run in high details or high resolution, and probably a not so new game like DeusEx HR or Skyrim will kill it; it will work with old or not so needy games.
Even when I forget to enable Optimus and run Dolphin on the Intel HD3000, I get passable (if not perfect) FPS. Of course with the crappy NVIDIA GT630M I got perfect FPS.

Assassins Creed I & 2 720p medium settings 40fps.

The Stick Of Truth 60fps 720p

CS:GO 720p very high 60fps.

Dead Island 720p everything low 40/50fps.

Need For Speed Undercover 1080p all high without AA 60fps.

Oblivion 1080p Very High no AA 60fps.

League of Legends 720p everything Very High. 60fps

Fallout 3 and New Vegas 720p medium settings 60fps.

The surprise for me was Dead Island, a crappy console port with so little graphics options runs pretty well, note that I have 2gb DDR3 of ram

I suppose you run XP... In my W7, Google Chrome alone monopolizes around 2GB of RAM if not more.

Well Chrome is a memory eater so it's normal. Now i'm using W7 Ultimate (x86 of course) and let me tell you something, DX11 it's the best thing that could happen to a HD Graphics, improves the performance a lot.

Oh a btw i'm using a 4gb flashdrive for Readyboost but tbh i don't see any improvement

So! I had a hp 430 g2,and it had Intel hd4400. It ran some games at medium. I only played minecraft, and lol and others from time to time. It ran gta V at like 30fps on lowest graphs. Look up a youtuber he does show games on Intel hd4400 and hd4600 (I have a lenovo y50, it's nice)

I got a 6GB Toshiba Satellite (boosted it to 12gb of RAM on day 1) with a AMD Radeon R5 [Beema] (integrated) but this integrated card has definitely thrown me for a loop. Plays Mass Effect 1 (with high resolution texture mod) on full max settings and life is strange plays on max.

annnnnnd according to "can you run it": It won't play Arkham knight but it will play GTA V on LOW. For an integrated card I'd say it surely passed my expectations . Intel HD? ehhhh...not sure about that.

Well, now that that Laptop has died after my niece accidentally spilled water, I don't have Intel HD LOL! I wonder what are the specs of the new laptop Geek Squad is going to replace that with and so I will ask if the specs of that one is suitable for gaming or not. I doubt it though, lol.
