Instinct NX problem with boot time

I just installed an instinct chip on my second old switch and at first it seemed like everything was going well. I've been having an issue where sometimes the console will take 1-2 minutes to boot to the no-sd screen, and other times it will take 1 second. What possible explanations are there for this, and how can I fix this?

Yes. It just glitched now in 2 seconds. There is no logical explanation as to why sometimes it glitches immediately and other times it takes a minute. Could it be something related to training? I started noticing this issue after booting into OFW although that doesn't mean the problem wasn't there before.
