Hacking Installed game question

Hi I am planning on getting a gateway card and i have a question, I already have fire emblem awakening installed from the e-shop (legit) and i was wondering if I would be able to install DLC (.cia) for fire emblem through the devmenu and be able to access it on my legit copy of the game without losing my save.

I have searched around the forums but i wasn't able to find an answer so sorry if this was already posted.

yes it will work fine, but only in gw mode, otherwise the cia will not get loaded since the dlc is not 100% legit.
but if you boot up gw etc, then yes you will be fine.
