I was trying to update my Multi-man over to 4.30 and installed the CEX version but it began giving me an error every single I tried to boot, saying that my installation was not complete (but it still worked). So, I installed the DEX version of Multi-man, but this time it messed everything up. I can no longer access "*/app_home/PS3_GAME" (I get error 80028F14) or Multiman (I get error 80029519). I downloaded the latest CEX base version of multiman and have the .PKG on the root of my external HDD but it's impossible to install without accessing */app_home/PS3_GAME!

What do I do?! I really rather not restart this entire process, it's been pretty time consuming and i'm very busy. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: Restarted my PS3 and now everything is working - my god that was so irritating

Why are you saying it's impossible to install without accessing */app_home/PS3_GAME?

Why don't you install from Install Package Files??

Unless you don't have it because you're on an old version of Rogero 4.30!

He edited the OP to state that a reboot solved his problem Yesterday.

Yeah I saw that, but I'm wondering why he's saying he can't install without accessing */app_home/PS3_GAME because if he's running an old version of Rogero 4.30 he should consider updating.

I was under the impression that they were the same thing. How do you access "install package files"?

Should be right below the /app_home/PS3_GAME option.

That's odd, I don't have it. I must have an old version of Rogero 4.30, anyone mind reminding how to update it? Can i just download the latest .PKG CFW and put it on the root of my thumb drive?

I think you can just throw the Rogero PUP on a USB Flash drive, and have the PS3 update from the USB media. That's how I did it with my PS3 anyway after downgrading it.

I recommend installing Rebug by following the guide below:

1- Make NOR/NAND dump (optional):
Install latest version of multiMAN (4.30.00), plug in a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive into the right USB port, launch multiMAN under Games and go to mmOS > Press [O] on any file > Open in HEX viewer > Press [SELECT] > Press [START] > Export GameOS LV2: Select No > Export HV LV1: Select No > Export FLASH: Select Yes

2- Install Rebug 4.30.2 from XMB:
Download Rebug 4.30.2 from Rebug's website, verify the md5 hash, rename the PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP, put it on your FAT32 formatted flash drive in PS3\UPDATE, go to System Update and Update via Storage Media. Make sure there's NO original game disk in the drive and that you DON'T Update via Internet or else you would risk installing OFW higher than 3.55!

3- Install Rebug Update Package 0.1:
Download Rebug_Update_Package_0.1_4.30.x.pkg from Rebug's website, verify the md5 hash, install it from Package Manager, launch it under Games and follow the on screen prompts, the screen will freeze for a while when you select Yes, do NOT force shut down your PS3 at this stage or else you will get a nice and shiny RSOD! Just be patient and wait for it to finish what it's doing, it will reboot if needed when finished. Once the PS3 has rebooted, you can delete Rebug Update Package from your XMB as it is not needed anymore.

4- Enable QA and spoof to 4.40:
Install Rebug Toolbox from Package Manager, launch it under Games, go to Utilities and enable QA. This is to ensure easier and safer downgrading. Now go to Selector and change System Mode to Rebug, this will spoof to 4.40 to prevent accidental updates and allow PSN access (not since the recent OFW 4.41 release). You can also change XMB Operation Mode to Retail and Debug Menu Type to CEX QA to ensure you have the Retail menus instead of the Debug menus which you probably won't need.

I've been curious is there a big difference in functions, and usage from Rogero? If my games still work that I have now I'd be willing to switch over as well.

The main difference is in reliability and stability rather than functionality. The main functionality, running homebrew and backup that is, is the same. But Rebug is more stable and reliable and has lots of other features that you may or may not use such as Debug settings and the DEX kernel alongside the CEX kernel.

I highly recommend Rebug over Rogero. If you're already on 4.xx CFW, everything will still work when you switch over to Rebug.

More of a pirate through and through. Any major features that would entice the average user come to mind?
I would say the ability to switch between different Rebug CFWs (3.55, 4.xx) by installing them on top of each other from XMB, even if you're downgrading.

For instance, if you want to downgrade back to 3.55, you would just enable QA and install Rebug 3.55.4 on top of Rebug 4.30.2 from XMB. Downgrading Rogero 4.xx on the other hand requires a downgrader PUP and dehashing.

Also, the stability and reliability of Rebug cannot be matched, it gives you peace of mind. Once they release a version of their CFW, they only release one or 2 versions, adding features between versions instead of fixing bugs. Rogero on the other hand releases multiple versions fixing major bugs between versions, so you would have to keep flashing your firmware which is not good.

Also, once on Rebug, you use everything Rebug instead of using tools from here and there and everywhere because they have all the tools for their CFW. For example, when OFW 4.40 was released, they released an Update Package to update the built-in spoofer to 4.40, they also released a universal spoofer for other CFWs, so if you're on Rogero, you have to use Rebug's spoofer to spoof to 4.40, same with enabling QA, you have to use Rebug's Toggle QA to enable QA on Rogero CFW. Rogero doesn't have all the tools needed for his CFW.

The same thing will happen now with 4.41, Rebug will release another Update Package to update the built in spoofer to 4.41.

You can check www.rebug.me for a complete list of Rebug CFW features.

That sounded good, so I followed you instructions but when I try to install Rebug from the XMB I get a "Data is corrupted 8002F169".

Yep assuming I must downgrade somehow?
Yeap, remember this is because you're downgrading from 4.40 to 4.30 and as I mentioned above, Rogero cannot be downgraded without a downgrader PUP. Rebug 4.30.2 would have installed fine on Rogero 4.30 because you would still be on the same version.

So first, you have to downgrade to Rogero 3.55 v3.7 by following the guide below:
http://www.tortuga-cove.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=4717

Once on Rogero 3.55 v3.7, install Rebug 4.30.2 from XMB by following my previous guide above.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5
