Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

Hi, is this tool known to make certain games freeze? In particular the Arcade Archives ones.
Reply to myself: yes, Incognito breaks certain ACA games, for example Punch Out and Magician Lord (but not others, no idea why). I did some testing and in the end restoring my cal0 info (through Incognito itself) allowed me to run those games.

To be fair, 90DNS also breaks those games. Apparently they need to contact Nintendo servers and properly identify your console, for whatever reason.

Both of those work fine here. Incognito, no linked NNID.

There must be some factor differentiating my situation from yours, then. Maybe the not-linked NNID. I isolated my problem by using a fresh SD card, a fresh Kosmos package from SDSetup and a clean install of NSPs. Of course my account and my network setup were still on the console.

Incognito and Google DNS: KO.
No Incognito and Google DNS: OK.
No Incognito and 90DNS: KO (sometimes different from Incognito's KO).
No Incognito and 90DNS again: OK again (sometimes with non-blocking errors, in one case with a nag to update firmware).

How do you restore your prodinfo.bin?

Scare the shit out of me

Restore the incognito backup prodinfo.bin through harddiskmount did not work

Retrieve prodinfo.bin and proinfofo.bin from my nand backup.bin, flash it again and it worked.

Almost have to restore nand since i not sure what to do. Hope this helps
Doesn´t Incognito have a built in option for restoring the prod.nfo?
I thought it was just a matter of selecting "restore" with the file generated by the same app.

Ya i didn't noticed it at that time. If not this will be so much easier LOL

Well...it was fun :P You can actually do a backup in harddiskmount just like hekate

Is there a way to restore old serial number to switch without prodinfo.bin? (I deleted myne without knowing...) ( I know its a stupid mistake)

How did you delete it? Incognito automatically makes a backup for you. YOu would have to wipe it, delete the backup prodinfo, and then not have a nand backup to lose anything.

Unfortunately, I do not have a band backup from before I started home brew on the switch. So there isn’t a way to change back the serial number without the prodinfo.bin. I know this is a really dumb mistake but it happened.

A dirty nand is okay as long it is before the use of incognito obviously
