Hacking Impossible to install CIOS?

Hello. I was at my friends house today, and i had some trouble with install the HBC. Beta 8 failed, but beta 9 installed w/o problems. However, when i was going to proceed to install the CIOS for the backup loader, the wifi version failed and the wad installation failed. Wifi gave me -1, wad manager gave me -2011. He is on 3.3u, and he got his wii just a month ago. I was thinking maybe because he has a d2e? I didn't know what to do. If you guys could help, that would be great!
