Hey all. I've been Googling for this answer for a while, but I can't seem to get a straight answer, or else it's for the wrong problem.

Anyway, I'm on my Ubuntu 12.10 partition, and I'm trying to get Thunderbird to get all of the mail from my att.net address. This includes the past stuff that's sitting on the att.net site. If I have this right, Thunderbird is only currently configured to obtain new mail from the mail server, and the old mail is sitting on a seperate server. Could be wrong, though, it's just a theory.

So how would I get Thunderbird to get all of the old mail on my att.net address? Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, it is still there on the ISP's website when you log in there to check your e-mail.

And yeah, I know. I use a Gmail account myself, but this is for my Dad.
