Nintendo have a strategy, and they're never going to change. Release a console with a killer app (botw). Slowly release new titles and remakes over several years, but always leave you wanting more.

i didnt use a console that much since i started using a pc 14yrs ago , the games just keep coming , most compagny are brigning back the games they can , plus some games that are only on switch , plus the portability ,plus the homebrew/hacking/whateveryoucallit scene . iv change the dock so its more portable and can bring it in my pocket , i can connect a ps4 + xboxone +more using an 8bit adapter or homebrew. i got games to play till i die with emulation and so many console it can do . iv change the joycon case for a see throug green , and i can fix a joycon stick in about 10 min now , they cost 2$ in bulk . and i could keep going on little thing that makes this console awesome .

OH haven't mentioned the how extremely great the pro controller plays and feels in my palms. Probably the best controller to date.

Indeed, I've been using it exclusively for all my Switch needs, and I don't plan on ever going back to Joycons ever again.

The Switch? Oh, you mean the Wii U Deluxe
that's exactly what it is they didn't even bother to make it more powerful. the only thing the switch really has going for it right now is it's a good portable gaming device or people buy it to hack it. but mainly it's whole popularity comes from the portability.

I don't care about the "power" of a console (we all loved the GameBoy), I care about the games: on Switch they released a lot of Wii U porting... that I already own. Or remakes (I prefer new games).
Wii U had such amazing games, but people wasn't able to understand its difference from Wii and Nintendo itself hasn't been able to promote it.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8
New Super Mario Bros. U
Bayonetta 1
Bayonetta 2
Hyrule Warriors
Pokkén
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Captain Toad
Lego City Undercover

so many flaws in yr comment lol- you say you dont care about power which is crazy in itself and only games but if nintendo had power they would of had better chance getting the bigger devs on ther side which would of mean less ports and new games what you say you want - and you say people didnt understand the difference between wii and wii u thts just a crazy myth

On the contrary, more power would mean more ports, as it would be easier to port games from PC/XBoner/PS4 and get them running well on the Switch.

First of all: I have not read all the posts before. Way too much text.

When the Switch came out, I just laughed and thought it was the next dead project from Nintendo. After a while I even had one in my hand but I wasn't convinced at all. Much too expensive and it was a cheap tablet with cheap controllers for me.

I have to say that I have a stressful job that takes up a lot of time and I also have children. To gamble in the evening was always luxury.

Then I got a switch on loan and I must say: WoW!
Lying in bed in the evening and the kids are next door, the wife too - I just wasn't closed off for me anymore but I could play a lot of great games: in bed! That was just a great feeling.

Then I bought it myself and a few weeks later the first exploits came and since then this console is a dream for me!

All emulators, games etc.
Way too much to play all of them.
YES - I also wish for a Wind Waker but honestly: When should you play through all this?

Moments I play "only" witcher and the game is incredibly huge and challenging. I think if we really played through everything, we wouldn't complain that there are "too few" titles.

For me the switch is the best invention on the gaming market.

they knew exactly what they were doing and it was targeting the ipad/phone games casuals and focusing on portability. the switch itself isn't a very good home console it doesn't even have proper surround sound FFS but it makes a great portable. specifically if it's hacked to run emus/hb

I pretty much had the same experience. It's the perfect console for parents. I find it difficult to find time to play PS4 or PC games without getting interrupted. I don't get a lot of alone time, only 1-2 hours before going to bed so the Switch was a blessing for me. At the pace I'm playing, I think the Switch library alone will last me a lifetime :D

Same here!! Not only I have 3 kids, I live in the airports, like half of my life...I bring my Switch to all my flights.

This sounds increasingly like vindication.

I am curious about this homebrew stuff everybody seems to be raving about though. Compared to the likes of the GBA, DS, PSP, xbox and Wii I am not seeing it. Or is it another case of homebrew=emulation rather than the actually fun stuff?

Hybrid consoles were a mistake, I think that's why they made the Switch lite as a handheld only.
I would maintain hybrid console is a marketing term if the Switch is to be the example people use of it. Bumping clocks because of wall power and having video out is not a new concept at all.

You are missing the point, I have 4 Wii U but being able to play some of the best Zelda titles ever released on one console anywhere you want would be just great.
You hav missed the point he clearly stated to play in bed and he said he had a stressful job tht takes up loads of time so from those reasons I highly doubt he takes to work or sleeps ther:D

I've been expecting the Switch to get its own Mario Kart game, but even to this day it only has 8 Deluxe which is a GotY-like version of the Wii U game.

I'm hoping that dkc returns is released for the switch, but what are the odds of that? I want to play those extra stages. :D
