Region changing and Japanese language changing would be nice even though Japanese is a bit pointless for me, it does look nice.

Customizable colors and messege board background.
Custom idling sound. (plus off switch, man do I get tired of that noise)
Customizable Cursors
Nunchuck and Gamecube controller support.
Differnt channel layouts.
Random online features like an RSS ticker.
Pretty much stuff we could do with homebrew firmware though Im hoping we'll see a mini linux OS GUI someday.

Though for right now I see small Firmware hacks in the near or not too distant future. Just getting rid of that dang idle noise would be great. Color changing too if it were easy enough. I get tired of light gray.
