I just got in the iEdge card and tried to flash the firmware on it the way it's described.
Took the right NDS file and the bootstrap for Windows to create the update file.
Put the file bupdate.bin on the MicrosSDHC card and them in the DSL. After powering on I clicked on the icon "iEdge instructions".
I think something went wrong from that moment.
I still tried to put on the 1.7 OS and some NDS files.
Started up the DSL but I could only see the name of the NDS I used to create the update file.
No iEdge applications!

Cleaned the MicroSDHC card and put it in the iEdge and in the DSL.
No way I can run the update again! I' am (stupid and) stuck.

Can anyone help me out please.

Regards,
Marco

You need to install the bootstrap first, before you can do anything. The users manual on the edge website tells you how to do this.
Thanks for your reply but I used the bootstrap together with the NDS file to create the update file on the MicroSD card.
First it showed me the icon of iEdge on my DSL but after a update (which problably went wrong) I can't seem to update again to correct it.

When you install the bootstrap you are supposed to see the sudoku icon instead of the iedge icon. Just launch it, and if the OS files are on ur microsd (iedge.bin etc) then it should work fine.

Thanks, I just got the same answer from the Edge team!
The problem is now that if I choose the Sudoku icon I see " Hudson" and a bee and after that only white screens.
I tried copying OS 1.7 and also 1.6.
Just got a new DS Lite so I hope there is no protection in there.

Can't get iEDGE card to work in my DSi!!!
I've tried EVERYTHING to get my new iEDGE card to work in my DSi.
I've done things in the following order: formatted microSD card to FAT32 then
1. downloaded bootstrap updater and pointed to 0363 rom and updated.
2.all of this is then on the MicroSD CARD.
3.put on up to date OS from EDGE downloads page on Micro SD card.
4. have put MicroSD card into iEDGE card and placed it in DSi.
5. I've allowed card to flash red and then flash intensley until it stops.
6. switched off DSi as advised.
7. switched on DSi scrolled to iEDGE card and chose it.
8. get the following ERROR on screen:
AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED.
PRESS AND HOLD THE POWER BUTTON TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF.
PLEASE REFER TO THE NINTENDO DSi OPERATIONS MANUEL FOR DETAILS.

I'm tearing my hair out to sort this out and have used all the correct advice as given
by EDGE.

The only thing I can think is that I have to downgrade the software or something
but EDGE site has only the latest downloads.
What do I do to get this damn iEDGE card to work in my Dsi ?????????

Did you guys get it working properly? If so, what did you do different compared to edge's official instructions?
I didn't get it working yet.
When I extract the OS I don't see the iedge.bin but iedge.dat.
After choosing the Sudoku Hudson I see "Hudson" with a picture of a bee for 3 seconds and then the screens stay white forever.
I wonder if there is a way to get the iEdge card flashed with the update again because I think it went wrong there.
Someone has an idear how to do that???
Just really blank the card should do the trick because I can than do the firmware flash again.
Still no good answer form iEdge.

I' am done with the iEdge card.
Bought 2 cards and both cards don't run the OS.
The icon Sudoku is there but thats it.

Maybe it's my new DSL but because this card is so new no one can help me out.
The Edge support gives standard answers and are not able to tell me how to clear the firmware.
Whatever I try the card doesn't give me the red leds activity anymore.

Gonna buy the Acekard 2i and hope it's n00b proof.

Good luck for the people who have the same problem.
For what it's worth iEdge told me the manual is not really clear at some point of updating and they gonna change that.

Hi killershark and armago!

Have had standard answers from EDGE as well.
They don't seem to want to understand that
I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING THEY'VE SUGGESTED
to get the iEDGE card working but still get the same
ERROR screen on my DSi.
I've just fired off a very large e-mail asking them to stop
giving me the same advice all the time and they say I'm not
installing the bootstrap update exe. properly, but all you do is extract
it to your MICROSD card and it's done, then use GUI pointed
to SUDUKO 0363 ROM for update, with up to date OS on then
place in DSi, go through flashing LED sequence, power off, power
on, but then I get iEDGE icon and not SUDUKO icon.
When iEDGE icon is chosen it ends up with an ERROR message and tells
me to switch off the DSi and I'm back to nothing again.
At the moment I'm left with a useless iEDGE card which doesn't do
what it is meant to do
It would be nice for EDGE to admit that there might be another problem going on.
I've suggested maybe the DSi has been changed so therefore what do I do for the
card to work, or is it a problem with the iEDGE card (possible! ) or something
else.
If I get another standard answer I don't know what to do next.
I hope they come up with another solution/solutions and think a bit more outside
the box as it were.
This card was for my 8 year old boy for Christmas for his Dsi, so Im annoyed and
he's just a bit upset.
Not good all round.
I'd be interested to hear how people get on with other brand cards and let me know
which ones work properly and perfectly.
Take care all of you!
Kind Regards
Liam

Hi everyone,

I have just received the iEDGE. I purchased a DSI for Christmas so needed a card compatible with this and having owned an EDGE card with over 12 months of faultless useage and with excellent build quality decided to buy the iEDGE.

The DSI already had Firmware 1.4E on it.

When I placed the iEDGE in the DSI for the first time and switched it on, I didn't press or touch anything until the red LED stopped flashing. Then the DSI went to the main menu. I switched the DSI off and put the iEDGE OS 1.7 on the microSD card, replaced it back into the iEDGE, put that into the DSI and switched it back on.

On the DSI main menu was an icon for sudoku which i selected and I was taken to the EDGE selection menu.

I followed the installation instructions to the letter and luckily for me it worked.

I just hope all the people who are having problems can get everything sorted out because the iEDGE works every bit as good as the original EDGE.

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I will do my best to help.

Thanks. Johnno

Just a question, are you people using a proper rom to create the bootstrap?
I'm asking because many people trim or otherwise torture roms in various ways so this may be the problem? Maybe also try a rom from a reputable source and definitely not one dumped by yourself.

I don't have an iEDGE, though, just trying to think what the problem may be.

I forgot to say earlier that I renamed the rom to exactly the same filename that is written next to common filename in the readme file in the EdgeBootUpdate v1 folder.

This probably won't make any difference but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Here is our experience of our current iEDGE stock.
We tried to flash the bootstrap using the instructions provided and the LED would just sit on solid red (no flashing) and resulted in the same iEDGE icon on the menu, we tried this an several carts randomly selected from stock and had the same issue each and every time.
Now for the interesting part, we were using a generic USB TF adapter (from an old R4 pack I believe) as its what we have here for testing memory etc.
Just out of chance we tried the supplied TF adapter (can’t be any different right?) and bingo! popped the TF card into the iEDGE and it flashed away.
Thinking this was just fluke we tried again with the old adapter (same rom file etc) and we were back to problems with the cart not flashing, we tried the supplied TF adapter again and it works every time without issue.
Here is the procedure we used:

Downloaded EdgeBootUpdate-v1-win
Downloaded 0363 - Puzzle Series Vol. 3 - Sudoku (J).nds
Insert the memory card into SUPPLIED TF Adapter and then the adapter into a USB port on the PC
Format the memory in windows FAT or FAT32
Run the EdgeBootUpdate-v1-win
Select the new formatted TF card
Select the 0363 - Puzzle Series Vol. 3 - Sudoku (J).nds
Click update
You will get a message to say completed and safe to remove card.
Remove the adapter and memory card from the PC
Insert the TF card into the iEDGE
Insert the iEDGE into the DSi
Turn on the DSi
Wait until flashing has completely stopped.
Power off DSi
Remove cart/memory
Format memory once again on the PC.
Extract iEDGE OS onto the root of the memory card
Insert the memory back into the iEDGE and the iEDGE into the DSi.
Power on and select the Sudoku icon (it will flash white for a few seconds before you see the word "Loading")
Your done and are presented with the familiar EDGE menu.

Hope this helps someone
Tony

EDIT:
Just to note bupdate.bin was visible in all instances, however only worked when using the supplied USB TF adapter!
