Hacking [idea] "RAM Disk"?

While playing a 3DS game on my n3DS I was thinking aboit loading times. I came up with a dumb idea, make a RAM disk of sorts to cache files in the n3DS's extra memory. I know this would be complicated, but an interesting idea.

That could be possible, but I doubt it would work without heavy gamecode modifications.

Not quite. But alocate the RAM and modify the FS layer to cache files on load.
