Call me stupid and prove me wrong, but I thought something might work. Earlier I was wondering if there could be an exploit for when the vWii goes back to the Wii U Menu since the vWii can still be modded without a CFW Wii U if it already has Homebrew, but I later realized that would not work because it just does a reboot to the system and the Quick Start menu is not involved either.
Anyways, The next idea that might work is that when transferring Miis from the 3DS to the Wii U in either Mii Maker or Sm4sh, we could have a modded Mii on the 3DS (Most likely need CFW on the 3DS? Which I have) that could trigger an exploit when brought to the Wii U? Again, I am not anywhere near sure if this works, so yes I am a pleb when it comes to this but I thought this would be a good idea if not at least me trying to give out one. I have been modding my Wii U nearly every day for a year, and my birthday is coming up soon and I just hope I can mod my Wii U again by then. *Yes it was my fault not being careful enough preventing the update / getting Haxchi on time, but if you're still lost, hopefully this works. (Also I'm new to having a GBATemp account so if I'm not doing this right just tell me)

.... Id just like to say that this could possibly work but i doubt it. I would think Ninty would have prepared for that ahead of time, but who knows. Maybe if you have a corrupted Mii it wont send? idk.

Anything can be an exploit dude and the idea you suggested would actually be really cool in executio, but no way to get that data in or out. can't just make an exploit you gotta find it and work it. A hacked mii would be super dope though

No. not everything can be an exploit.

The issue here though is, vWii runs in a virtual container. It doesn't have access to the Wii U features, and even has less RAM available. You'd have to hack it, then keep the hack persistent after leaving vWii with new abilities to circumvent WiiU security.

you misunderstood my post. i didnt say anything can be an exploit as in we can inject homebrew into anything we want i say it as anything could possibly be homebrew if it has something exploitable within it.didnt help i wrote my sentence like ass

Ah. Well, I still disagree with that. Sure an exploit can exist anywhere, but not anything can possibly be an exploit. Just because you can get your system to crash doesn't mean it's possible to exploit it.

Wii U games can be an exploit? if a VC DS can be,why not GBA,SNES or even wiiu games be a exploit?
Virtual Consoles run in full Wii U mode. That would be the difference there. This is why I said probably not for a vWii game. Only 2 vWii games even know the WiiU hardware exists, and those are the eShop versions only. All other VC games know the Wii U hardware exists (aka can access it). How else do you think the gamepad works for DS games?

Mii thing could work... if Mii Maker doesn't do size checks on the username (if it doesn't... well ninty... you're pretty stupid)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

tho a browser exploit is easier (really, the wii u browser has A LOT of bugs)

THe whole point this is needed is because Nintendo patched the previously used browser exploit. We know they are easy. That's why it was what was being used.

And you foresee no issue regaining full Wii U functionality from a vWii state?

What I was saying, Ninty patched just ONE browser bug, there are a lot (and wiiu browser uses opensource libs too).

Well I know of a crash in Minecraft: Wii U Edition where if you try to create a custom superflat world, when you are selecting a block and you touch "Air"

Yes and like I said I thought if nothing was found (No that I doubt you or something) this could also be something to look at. If you browser exploits work again, that is great as well.

Are you sure they only patched a single bug? If that were the case, why didn't we see loads of guides/sites on the Temp advertising they work with a new browser exploit?
