I've looked around but cant really find a clear guide, So I install the Fb Alpha.cia's , and then I understand I need an Xml file to use another app like youtube or UMH 4 Demo to access more memory, and then for NeoGeo games I need the Neogeo.zip Bios in the same folder as the games right.

I'm guessing the games folder can be anywhere right?

and the xml can be created in txt format and just saved as .Xml format is that correct?
which should look like this right?

Have you tried the Retroarch Emulation Thread?

If not, what about this one, which is also listed in the thread?

I haven't bothered to read the second link, but I'm willing to bet it will help.
Thanks for your response, I have actually come across both of those tutorials, the retroarch emulation thred is what I've been using for the most part however it is a little outdated now, and it doesnt explain FB Alpha emulation very well.

I have figured out that since making this thread. As I'm using .CIA format files, It's unnecessary to create a .Xml Script which makes perfect sense, now I think about it. Originally it was intended to increase memory for the Fb Alpha application if using .3DS files (which most people only use for flash cards like sky3ds and gateway I believe).
But using .Cia files creates its own tile on the home screen therefore, has its own memory parameters and piggybacking is unnecessary. However was thrown off in the retroarch emu thread, as on the FBA tutorial mentions FB Alpha needs a .Xml script.

The second link you posted to, is not the best compatibility for emulation, in fact I think you can run emulators using the homebrew app method without having custom firmware on your 3DS. As you can imagine you always get better emulation when you have more control over the console.

Just to clarify I'm using a "New" 3DS 'Luma & Arm9Loader' on 11.3

Hmm, so at this point, what exactly did you need help with? Not that I'd be able to necessarily, but just to clarify, as it seems like you've solved the problem.

At this point, Although I have not tested personally, I'm told it's just a case of installing the Fb Alpha cia then booting up and loading the rom (romset 2.97.39).

I have however run out of space on my SD card so wont be testing this until, later in the coming weeks.
