give me some things to do on my Wii.
Depends on what you want to do. Some ideas:
Install Homebrew Channel, cIOS, USB loader… with ModMii (if not already done)
Don't skip Priiloader and install BootMii in boot2 if the boot1 version on your Wii allows this.
Dump your game discs and play them from external HDD. (Use Nintendont for GameCube games)
Modify the appearance of Home Menu (themes). Don't do this without having Priiloader! You have been warned.
Use emulators like SNES9GX, Genesis Plus GX, FCE Ultra GX, mgba,… for older ("retro") games.
Play Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is one of the best romhacks ever released. Can be run via Riivolution with your legit game disc in the drive (like intended by Newer Team) or by patching the ISO/WBFS you get by dumping your disc for loading it from HDD.
If your Wii is older it may read DVD-R. Backup loading from discs with Neogamma is somewhat fun but sloooow. USB loading is much better for everyday use.
Play audio and video files with WiiMC-SS
The Wii is limited to 480p and does not have hardware acceleration for h.264. This limits which video files can be played.
MPEG-2 works flawlessly (ripped DVD video)
In case the drive is old enough it may play video DVDs directly. This is stress for the aging drives and I would rather not do it beyond some testing.
Test uploading software from your computer with JWiiload.
Very interesting for developers not wanting to take their SD out every five minutes after changing something in the source code.
Set up a Linux system (computer must have Bluetooth, Raspberry Pi 3 works fine) for trying out the Bluebomb exploit. Having a Wii sit on the Health and Safety screen, pushing sync and seeing the HackMiiInstaller start without user interaction is cool.
Upload DS homebrew to a DS console with "wii-ds-rom-sender"
Dump your GBA cartridges (ROM and save data) from a GBA with the GBA/GameCube link cable and the homebrew app "gba-link-cable-dumper"
Not everything above serves a purpose (like starting Bluebomb if you already have Homebrew Channel installed) but it is a nice thing to do and you might learn something.
Sorry, I'm too lazy to link everything at the moment, but searching the web with your favorite search engine should easily to anything you find interesting.
A good collection of downloads for Wii can be found at https://wiidatabase.de/downloads/ The site is in German language but easy to understand/navigate even without speaking German.
Good luck and have fun!
I'd hardly call writing all that stuff being lazy
One thing I'd really want to try myself is play some Dosbox games and some more point n' click games. Had a really great time back in the day with my first play through of Broken Sword DC for the Wii and I'd also want to see if HOMM with Wiimote is nice.
Apart from this a lot of people enjoy using Wiiflow to have a different way of displaying their collection.
Then there's online gaming through Wiimfi for wii games and BBA in Nintendont for Gamecube.
You can also have a look at making the gamecube controller replace the Wiimote which was made possible by Aurelio some time ago. Only possible on Wii and not vWii from what I understand.
If you're into HW modding you can open your Wii and install the Wiidual for better picture quality and direct digital output through HDMI.
I pulled out my wii for the first time since 2013 last week and it is indeed a blast! Currently playing the tanks mini game from Wii Play, super mario galaxy 2, and various party games when family comes over.
You could become a gold digger. The vast library does have some games you would probably like better never heard of.
where is the gold mine and where?
Install Linux and use your wii as a micro computer ! Controll everything on your home via bluetooth and wifi directly with your wii remote ! Serve light web pages, setup a personal blog or a tricount-like app, or anything ! Play Doom.
