actually, the ds-xtreme is the best flashcart atm, and it will be superior when the next fw comes..
anyway, you should not have downgraded it, ds-x team highly recommends not using that tool.
it has bricked some ds-xtremes..


*shakes head* are you dum? go on PROVE its the best cart.. PROVE the next FW will make it superior.. dude, you can't PROVE ANYTHING, so i would shut up if i were you.. and, downgrading it, most of the time HELPS your ds-x not brick them.. only 0.1% of the time it bricks someones ds.. *sigh*

The DS-X team doesn't care how much you hate them. They're almost done with a beta of their firmware that can go back in time and fix all the issues you've been having.

Like Nubia, i still trust them. I had the 4 gbit, and yesterday i received the 16 gbit i ordered last week. Still love em and i have faith that they will fix all issues.

Well...I got banned off their forums...
And the GBATemp is cool, but there's no n00bs to help when something is going wrong. That's the thing i loved on the DS-Xtreme Forums.

Oh well.
i used to try helping people on ds-x forums too, until the mods deleted some of my post (even if it was only twice or 3 times), even if they didnt contain anything they could delete it for, only the info needed to help the person, dont understand that and i am really sad about this

Your best bet is to sell the cart and buy an R4 or CycloEvo. I had a bunch of issues with my DSX and opted for the CycloEvo a few weeks ago and never looked back.

TheGame, you're cool, and so are some of the other people on the forums, but they are terrible to their customers, there is no real way around that.

If I paid 120$ for a unit and want it to do what it's supposed to do, it should damn well do it, and I don't want the company to call me names and delete my threads/posts, lie about it, then call me a criminal and a whiner and a liar because I want what was originally promised to us as consumers. Part of that 120$ went into SUPPORT, and they fail to notice that.

Way to alienate current and future customers, you made sure to make me badmouth them every chance I get and never purchase from them again. Consider it negative word of mouth advertising. I know for a fact I have sold a handful of R4s to my friends via this method... Hey Jester, what do you use to play those NDS games? Me: I use a DSX, but there are better supported options out there for hella less money and they don't call you names. Go for that.

They did support people who had hardware problems with it and they even replaced units that were no longer under store warranty.

I'm not gonna elaborate more because this is not the DS-X forum and well, no matter what is said here, you get R4 smacked in the face. I'm sorry but that is the truth. Any thread made gets a : switch to R4, switch to R4, no support, etc. etc.

I had support from them, i don't have anything bad to say on them either. I even upgraded from a 4 gbit to a 16 gbit. I don't care if some apps don't work now, they will be eventually. I have other things to do than play DS all day long.

1- Yeah, ok, but these problems are happening a lot for the DS-X, and I don't see other manufacturer's products having those many problems...then again, it's warranty for you.

2- R4, R4, R4. Well, yeah, it's the best flashcart IMO, but there are other options (SCone, EZV, CycloDS, etc.). I agree that the R4 is much better than the DS-X, and much easier to use too, but eh, there are other options too.

3- Support is good and bad. Good because if you have a hardware problem you can open a support ticket and pronto. But it's bad 'cos we're waiting more than 4 months for a firmware update, while the R4 had released 2 updates already in that period of time. All apps work, you need to patch some with the ARM7, but that's ok.

Forums are getting worse by the day, and I seldom appear anymore there.

If you have a DSX and are unhappy with it, things will likely have to change on your end. It seems nothing will ever change on the DSX Team's end. You made the wrong choice (like me) and just have to move on. Unfortunatly, these things happen sometimes and we are just the ones who got screwed for the most part. I've played a hell of a lot of games on it so I'm still alright with the amount of use I've worked out of it but now my DSX is a slow as hell, constantly crashing and not being detected piece of shit.

Me? I will be sending out for an R4 from Deal Extreme soon enough. Already picked up a Kingston 1GB MicroSD from work too. Also because Deal Extreme has PSP faceplates at an unbeatable price. Mine has been cracked and less than $10 to fix that? Hell yes, son. Hell yes. : D
