I recall hearing about this quite recently and I thought it was pretty cool. Legitimate, portable systems aren't just for the tech-savvy anymore.

from the reviews i've read, it is rather large and the shell feels cheaply constructed. it has poor battery life (like 2-3 hours). but as a home system it could be really fun, with the av-out and 2 controller ports. but at that price, it isn't worth it as just a home system. also consider that its running emulation so it won't have 100% compatibility and will probably have issues with the special chip games as well as hacks and translations.

i know that i would never travel with it due to its size and poor battery life. its cool, not sure if its worth a purchase.

I'm pretty sure there are sites that teach you how to make a portable snes from old parts instead of an emulator, besides with this I would need the cartridges to play...on an emulator, really
I would say this isn't worth much more than $30 if not $20.

Indeed, I don't see how portable this huge thing is, especially when coupled with 4 - 5 SNES games which will take up as much space as a PSP, a DS Lite, an iPod Touch and all their proprietary chargers.

As for using this as a home console, I've seen 3rd party NES + SNES consoles for ~$50 including two controllers that even packs S-Video output.

For what it's worth, it's a nice little device but there are better and cheaper alternatives

I hear the Retro Duo Portable is better in almost every way. Apparently runs all the special chip games perfectly. The controllers it comes with are some really good clones as well. Some say they're the best clones.
The only downside is the face buttons on the hardware itself suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

A nice idea, but considering the price for the console, it may not be worth it. A portable SNES could be pretty neat, but if battery time is as AW said, I can imagine it not really being that great a portable. In comparison a PSP with a Snes emu can be played for quite a bit longer (with better compatibility I presume). Oh well if it's on sale some day, I may even get one

SNES emulation on a PSP is pretty terrible.
Most of the time you're better off emulating GBA ports of SNES games whenever possible.

Yeah, and I'd like a portable Xbox 360 that has every game ever released pre-loaded into 20 terabytes of internal storage, but that's not what this product is or trying to be, so that's not really relevant.

SNES emulation on a PSP is pretty terrible.
Most of the time you're better off emulating GBA ports of SNES games whenever possible.

Make sure you're not using a really old emulator. There's countless ports of SNES9x, and some are better than others.
