PCSX2 would be awesome, at the very least some of the less demanding games on the system. Personally would rather see a solid Dreamcast emu and PS1 with netplay.

Hello everybody for better or worse I joined gbatemp to comment in this thread!

My question is this: On the 3DS, the browser prevents you from even using it if a system update is available. I believe it performs this check by grabbing the latest system browser version from this URL: https://cbvc.cdn.nintendo.net/CTR/1/USA (source). Do we have any knowledge of a similar check yet being in place on the Wii U anywhere?

The only reason I bring this up here is: such a check doesn't appear to exist on 5.5.0, given that the Internet browser can still be used even with 5.5.1 out. According to this page the browser was changed in 5.5.1 outside of just the exploit patches in mvplayer.rpl. So is there been any confirmation that such a check wasn't slipped into the 5.5.1 update?

Creadiar already said that there is no such thing on 5.5.1 like 3 weeks ago.

Jesus, what happened? (er...don't answer that, I can read)
Dev bashing, warez on you-know-where...more suspensions, [should I] update debates...
I'd hate to be associated with most of you if I didn't appreciate the lovable anarchy that is GBAtemp.net. I hope I don't get this bad, but please feel free to tear me apart if I start whining too.

BTW Wii U has no chance of more than a sub-par PS2 emu. It's CPU is the biggest problem, so who here has l33t GPGPU techs?

Inb4 GTX 980 Ti soldered to the Wii U motherboard.

Thanks, this is the info I was looking for. Do you have where he said this?
It's pretty old, I searched it right now and his profile it's private, so I can't really give you a link of the original post.
You can search it anyway, look at this tread or the Hacking and Developing one when the Update was new and you will see it by yourself.

Hopefully sometime down the line IOSU programs will let us use DS3/4's or Xbox controllers instead of the gamepad, beyond just Nintendont

I'm very patient, since I can self host my own exploit on 5.3.2 with a wifi SD card. I'm on a very comfy relaxing ride until IOSU shows up and development on homebrew is up there.
I just worry about my 5.5.0 friends who used to play games online, especially Smash Bros. With Corrin and Bayonetta coming out, god knows how long they can wait before they update to 5.5.1. That's just what they'll have to do, but if 5.5.2 comes out and more game updates arrive, what then lol
