Is there any interaction between hacking the vWii and this exploit? (one it will be out?)
I mean, is it completely safe to hack the vWii while waiting for the exploit to be ready?

i loaded up mario maker today and its asking me to update i have tubehax installed and ninty servers blocked in my router for hykems iosu exploit. any way i can play online without updating i am on 5.5.0 U at the moment.

It isn't, the trolls are just being deuces
No, it actually was confirmed to be delayed by Hykem.

Gotcha! Sorry, I just wanted to annoy everybody a little. I believe it's fair after being called everything around here. "Clown" and "king of vapourware" were top notch, congrats on the insults!
For all the others, rest assured, I'm not rage-quitting nor stopping anything. I ran into personal issues that kept me away from the internet, that's all. You'll still get your exploit as promised. I'm not wasting more time on the possible boot exploit as I've decided to chase that only after releasing what I have. I'm currently working on obfuscating it for which naehrwert gave me some "funky" ideas. It will take some time to implement, but my "vacations" have been extended up to the end of February.
To compensate for the delay, expect some nice things. Check my twitter feed in about 10 minutes to understand what I'm talking about.

UHGtuPBHEFGPUISFHVIUPJZXnfUhhhggggg, its perfectly safe to update to 5.5.1. Nothing changed except the webkit, which works fine with the exploit. Hykem confirmed they're are no "backdoors".

The exploit is already finished.
but is it ready?

oh and I would say he's more of a dinosaur than a penis.

How do you know?

Hykem himself said so...

So, I've got good news and bad news.
Now the good news, which should explain the additional delay. I need some time to pursue something I found in the MCP module. If I'm correct about this, we should be able to get a boot-time exploit. The reason for that is that the MCP module is responsible for launching "master" titles (like the PPC kernel, for example) and I found a bug that, if it turns out to be exploitable, should allow to hijack execution while MCP is still preparing to launch stuff. This means, early IOSU access and a direct boot into an exploitable environment. Not to mention that MCP is the IOSU user module with most privileges (next to BSP that is) and having access to it alone is more than enough to own the IOSU kernel at any given time.
I believe it's important to look into this because if it works, no one will have to worry about possibly bricking consoles by installing custom titles (homebrew channel, for example) and then attempting to launch them before triggering the exploit again after a fresh boot.

With that said, if this turns out to be nothing, I'll release the exploit right away.

"I'll release the exploit right away" means it's finished.

Also note:

So, I've got good news and bad news.
The bad news is that I'm going to postpone the release again. I said this week would be a more realistic release date, but I never confirmed it would happen then. Still, it's not a huge delay and it's definitely not to wait for a new firmware update.
Like I stated before, I have the entire month of January free just to work on this and the exploit will be released and maintained before February (yes, I'm sure of that).

Whoops!

it almost seems like naerwhert talked him into obfuscating it. which has delayed the release a bit. It's done but not obfuscated. :/

which he at one point stated wouldnt do much to stop nintendo anyway... and then at another point said he was doing it to help prevent piracy.. so idfk whats going on.

Thing is, it doesn't matter when it was originally stated to be released - it's released when it's released. I'm looking forward to it too, but some of the bile and venom being thrown around in this thread (and others) is appalling. Don't bite off the hand that feeds.

It's no wonder talented devs like yifan_lu left the Vita scene due to constant demands from people expecting everything delivered in their way. Be careful not to drive away the Wii U scene devs working hard.

Does anybody really know what this is going to be able to do when it does get released?
It sounds like the main delay is to make sure it can't be used to run loadiine or downgrade a console from 5.5.1 to 5.3.2

I'm just wondering if all of these people waiting for this to come out are going to be in for a shock...

And here I am thinking that loadiine is the main thing that the exploit will be used for.....

No rush take your time and get it done right. No worries playing yoshi Wooley w my 4 year old good times. Once it's released I will sell my 3 games :)
