I said earliest because there is a chance that this still could be a short generation of consoles

If it's a sequel to the 3DS not the Wii U: Their marketing is fucked because they are impeding Wii U sales for no reason instead of saying it's a handheld successor
If it's a long one console generation: Nintendo royally fucked

they already said its a fusion of wiiu with 3ds basicaly it will be some sort of home console with a controller that you can take on the go, so i bet hd games will need the main console while more simple games will be able to be taken on the go.

But yeah the wiiu is not gonna sell more at all, they screwed with the name, manny people nowadays still think the wiiu is just the gamepad to use with the wii or something.

The hack itself will not brick your console because it doesn't make any permanent changes to any firmware/files. HOWEVER, once you run the hack the system will be unprotected and at that point it would be VERY easy to brick your console by other means.

Such as updates etc.

Honestly i remember alot of people saying that the name means nothing and won't have any effect on sales. How wrong were they? the name Wii U is so terrible it creates so many confusing issues, whoever thought that one up i hope is fired.

to be fair. as much as i love nintendo and their games they make tons of stupid decisions. I mean first they make the 3ds xl without adding an additional circle pad. then they decided that we should be able to use a right analog in games and release the n3ds consoles with a freaking weird touch nub?

its like they come up with ideas and then instead of testing them they just run with it.

now back on topic. will hykems twitter be the best place to find out first or where should i be looking to hear about the exploit as soon as it's released?

Priiloader replaces the System Menu, which is possible on the Wii because signatures are not checked when NAND titles are launched. This is no longer the case on the Wii U: the entire boot sequence (boot0->boot1->IOSU->Cafe OS->Wii U Menu->[other titles]) contains signature checks.

lmfao not even close my friend, the PS4 and Xbox One will have 10 year lifespans. There is absolutely no incentive for either company to put out a new console that early especially if the current offer is selling so well. I don't know why so many people are convinced this will be a short gen in fact i'll put money that it will be the longest gen ever. The next step is 4k and 4k consoles are not coming out in 2018 not by any longshot.

Not laughable at all. I agree that we'll have the next generation in 2 or 3 years.
The next gen will support 4k but surely there will be very few titles using that high resolution (mostly games that recycle the resources through several sequels, like sports games and generic FPSs).

It's not incredibly useful to work on an emuNAND before we have the IOSU exploit, and Hykem is the only one with a working version, so work has not started (unless he's been doing it).

It's not incredibly useful to work on an emuNAND before we have the IOSU exploit, and Hykem is the only one with a working version, so work has not started (unless he's been doing it).

if releasing it now for 5.3.2 and under would allow homebrew apps to get rolling i agree with you. as long as those apps would still work with 5.4 and 5.5 once they were released.

I only said this because I don't know HOW Nintendo could possible patch the exploit for 5.4/5.5 users when these updates are already out. So I guess you mean they'd patch 5.6+ users. Nintendo CANNOT touch updates that are already released. So 5.4/5.5 users are safe forever, as long as they don't update to 5.6+.

I'm really patient, since I'm set with Loadiine on 5.3.2. I don't mean any offense to anyone on 5.4/5.5. I just thought it would be great for stuff to be developed sooner rather than waiting months, just for the fairness of 5.4/5.5 users. So I just wondered "Why hold back"

Hykem said it's already done for 5.3.2 and under, and he's not releasing it til it's ready for 5.4/5.5 users. So to me it's a matter of fairness to him.
