Why is this unrealistic?

Hykem has an IOSU 5.5.0 exploit which I'm sure someone mentioned pwns USB and SD & Loadiine GX2 exists.

edit:
nope not unrealistic, but dreams are usually a bit more....well impressive, its like a miss world contestant answering "i hope for peace that covers a 3 block radius and lasts for at least 4 days" if your talking about "dreams" i would say aim for the stars XD

"I will release the exploit for Christmas" he said..........

its-been-84-years-meme-titanic.jpg

why do you have a photo of me giving my sexy gf her 1st orgasam in 84 years? i rocked her boat untill it sank

anyway its got to drop soon didnt he say he has the month free to release "plus support it" meaning its got to be released some time before like yesterday?

Lol, I see.

I wonder how projects like this would turn out if they began open sourced, there always seems to be secretive groups who have and share things that no one else has access to. Anyone else think it would be an interesting notion to have an open source hack?

I understand that in that scenario ninty would ALSO have access to the info too, but its always a cat and mouse game anyway..... I dunno, just wanted to know opinions seeing as we are all in the dark until we are allowed to know whats happening next.

Open Source hacks are a BAD idea IMO.

As you say Ninty would have sight of the exploit path and would be able to patch it out before the said hack is released. Fair enough releasing the source post patch but not before.

It's almost as bad as you designing a Brand New never before thought of product and then letting your competitors know how it works and what it does before you bring it to market.

Surely once a hack for X firmware is being worked on, you tubehax/ensure you dont update past hackable.... just as we do today...

Effectively Nintendo KNOW theres a 5.5.0 exploit so they should be digging through their code and hiring .... EGOhot or some pay-to-protect-ex-hackers (or talented security experts) to patch flaws to protect their next effort.

Agreed, however history has shown us that there isn't always just one exploitable bug. For all we know there are multiple ones and Hykem's exploit takes advantage of the one he found. Plutoo and Smea had a different one IIRC. Nintendo honestly wouldn't know where to start looking I don't think and that is why they wait for these exploits to surface and use them as "maps" of a sort in order to find the source of the exploit.

Sony sufferend the same problem with the PSP to an extent. As soon as one exploit was released a FW update was release within the week or 2 after it to patch it and make it unusable. Look at how many different exploits were made available on the original Wii. The first hack I did on a Wii involved Twilight Princess and a hacked save file. Nintendo jumped all over that one and patched it to oblivion.

I'm more than happy for the people with the skills to create these things to keep the code/exploits to themselves until they are ready to release. There is no need for anyone outside of their circle of trust to have these hacks until they are ready for the general public.

I thought it was the same exploit, but, it doesn't matter if there's one or two.

Then console manufacturers will never learn either way.

Wii was exploited repeatedly until new hardware revision (wii mini). PS3 was exploited due to major fail .. but then came a new hardware revision (3k/4k), PSP was blown wide open and became a better console for it IMHO.... any way... off topic.

I think there is an argument for and against open source. I sit on the fence here as either way is great but from a experimental standpoint it would be interesting to see one anyone could contribute to.

People like Hykem and Smea get harassed 24/7 until there is a release or cancellation, but they are doing amazing things behind the scenes and need to be left to it or helped/encouraged IMHO, but there is no way to stop the beggars and impatient ones.

EDIT: I feel like I'm filling this thread with useless posts. I'm going to slink back into the shadows and wait silently....

Hello guys, I recently bought a wii u and I am kind of new to this community. Can anyone tell me who was that released the exploits for up to 5.3.2? Also loadiine? Also can anyone tell me what has Hykem released so far for the Wii U?

I'd recommend reading the stickies and guides posted around the forum first, then ask your questions after attempting them. We'll just be mucking up this thread more (not that it already isn't or anything).

You could just answer those questions in one reply yet you choose to point me somewhere else, that surely will make the thread better. Anyway I have searched a lot these days I still haven't figured out these questions. If anyone knows and doesn't want to make this thread a mess, then send me a PM... Thanks in advance!

You can find all the info you need in the guides and stickies in this section of the forum

why do you want the names of the hackers that did previous exploits? you a journo?
Well, first of all I want to see what all of these guys say for the 5.5 IOSU. I think I read that someone has Loadiine for 5.5 but he doesn't release it yet (I think he is called Mr Rean and I think he doesn't release it cause we are waiting for 5.5 IOSU). And secondly I want to see what Hykem has offered before the upcoming release.

Mr Rean has loadiine v5 but it doesn't necessarily mean it's for 5.5.0.... I could be wrong.
