Hey :)

I am thinking about modding my OLED Switch. The whole thing seems a bit more complicated to me and I am not sure what to get.

Which one is better, Hwfly or Picofly? I know that Hwfly is pretty good, but there don't seem to be significant disadvantages with Picofly.

one is wireless and the other has wires, but if you're getting the adapter might as well get the whole kit (chip and flex cables) bc then you don't have to desolder components to make it fit inside case

You can buy the pico ready-to-fit on aliexpress

Could you link me to what you're talking about? I think I found one but my account is too new to be linking anything yet

bc instead of soldering wires directly to pads you're soldering the flex cables provided with chip
do you mean the instinct-nx?

In all console type. And lovely nintendo switch i chose oled to mod it and use pico... Super free and more stuff.. No more money lose... Boom bra ba boom 🎉

The picofly chip is more complicated to install. It requires about 7 soldered wires (one on the GND, one on the 3.3v, another on the DAT0, another on the CMD, another on the CLK, another on the RST and finally on the CPU)

The HWFLY chip requires 2 soldering on the CPU, so it is easier to install. But it is more expensive. But if you have a Nintendo Switch lite or oled, more soldered is nessesary. Even if to date it seems impossible to me to find a HWFLY chip because the people who designed this chip (members of the Xecutor team) went to prison.

The picofly chip improves the start (very slightly) but it depends on several parameters like which CFW, version of the console ...

(Sorry for the spelling mistakes, I'm French ^^)

Experienced installers incl sthetix say hwfly is better because it's purposed built resther than the cheaper off the shelf parts which is picofly.

Sthetix is using Instinct-NX mainly as its easer for traders to install

As for the quality the flex cable for the oled are crap and the Instinct chip itself is fast but has poor quality. the pads can very easily be shorted to ground due to the cheap design

Pico zero I would say has better quality but to fit the switch it's a hassle. I would say In the future all mods will be custom rp2040 boards with the costs cheap and glitch time the same hwfly won't be needed.

Just send Hwfly a message. They'll give you a link to the removed product.
Are you sure about that? I texted them a few days ago and they said that Nintendo made them remove the products from AliExpress. They told me they would need some time before being able to sell the chips again... It is possible to buy them outside of AliExpress (they accept PayPal apparently), but they told me the shipping fee is 38usd (to Italy). Almost as much as a chip....
