There would be no purpose for downgrading when you could just autoboot wad manager and remove the wads. Then you could just launch the system menu normally and run the homebrew channel to downgrade.

Yes. Either this disk works or it doesnt lol. If it does, its all you need to fix your brick. Just remove the bad wads and your system menu will load again.

BTW Might as well start downloading now. Get it all ready for when you buy your disks.

Thats because its using the official Nintendo Repair Backup 1.31 Disc as the Shell.

That disc autoboots by itself. I didnt trucha sign or anything. Just replaced one file and it works for me.

Now to test it on a 3.3 system...

Replacing a file in a wii disc means resigning of that partition in which that specific file resides... So using backup disc for that matter doesn't make it any good compared to alternatives...

I guess Wii scrubber does it automatically unlike trucha signer tool if you tick trucha checkbox...

OK Just burnt it. My system is 3.3E - Wasabi drivechip, D2C drive.

Old 3.3 version... ie, no trucha discs normally, but they're ok via gecko.

Normal boot:
When disc was inserted - error screen appeared as it does with trucha signed discs.

Boot to recovery mode (with gamecube controller in port 4, all d-pad buttons...):
When disc was inserted nothing happened. 3.3EUR remained on the screen

Using gamma to reboot back to system menu:
Same as normal boot.



I'm pretty sure you can't swap files without trucha signing!

The only thing that could work is fromating the wii with the gay fish disc. Though I don't really know if it can do that. You would have to look yourself...
