To be honest I never really gave the "d-pad" on the joy-con much of a try. I just can't imagine how it could be better than a d-pad. It certainly can't be for some types of games. Street fighter on that "d-pad"?
Pocketable and portable are two different terms. Most people would call a laptop portable, but that doesn't fit in your pocket.
This is why I used the term "portable console", and not simply "portable".
Sure you can call the virtual boy portable, but it's just about as portable as the switch. (read into that what you will)
Anywho, I reiterate, I think a portable console should fit in your pocket. I never said it was necessary, just that it should. Otherwise, imo, it's too big.
It's probably great for people that need to wear a backpack anyways like people that are in school and/or take mass transit. I just can't be bothered. I need a screen protector and a little purse for it? Fuck that.

The little annoyance of carrying is fine for me as its much better than my 3ds and I always have a second controller. With the case I bought I can even fit the hori playstand and an additional set of joycon, meaning the possibility of either four total players or two pairs of separated joycon.
I returned recently baught vita within 7 day period so got full refund plus replacement plan refund and traded in my n3ds to get a switch and Zelda and a screenprotecter for 64$

What's the point if there's no NES, SNES, GB/GBC, or GBA emulators? This would really help since there has yet to be a Virtual Console, thanks to the lazy morons at Nintendo.

It already happened with Dolphin on the Galaxy S8 emulating GameCube games perfectly, so I wouldn't be surprised.
