I've just got this r4i sdhc flashcard and want to play some ds roms with it, but I don't really know what to do. I don't have the kernel for it. Can someone help me?
My 3ds has a9lh + luma and is on 11.3. However, I have backups from 11.2

1st, try downloading the kernel here:
http://www.r4isdhc.com/2014-r4isdhc-rts-lite/
Essentially this R4i clone uses the same kernel to a wide range of their products.
2nd : If it doesn't work with your 3DS as it is, try using this loader: https://gbatemp.net/threads/r4-stage2-twl-flashcart-launcher-and-perhaps-other-cards-soon™.416434/

Normally Luma3DS already patch properly the twl_firm so it can load most of DS flashcards, but the Stage2 TWL Flashcart launcher forces the boot in case the luma's patch isn't adequate.

Thanks, I'm now just transferring the files. Does my micro sd need to be in any specific format? Also, on what folder do I store games?

Format it to FAT32, then copy the "R4iMenu", "moonshl2", "moonmemo" and "R4.dat" to your microSD root.

Normally those flashcard accept any directory except the ones used by it's own kernel to load the DS ROMs, so create any directory to put your ROMs, I only advice that you create a short name for directories, due to limitations on FAT32 name sizes (they sum the directories and filenames).
Normally I try to create more than 1 directory so I can split the ROMs among them due to the interface getting slower when you have lots of ROMs in the same dir.

Thanks. My micro sd adapter is acting weird, so this is taking more time than it should. But i will try that out.

Okay, now it is launching, but it says system file is missing.
