How can i use homebrew on my 3DS XL? I got Gateway.

Do i really need that ninja game (or w/e its name is?)

Depends on the Homebrew you want to play. You need Cubic Ninja for *.3DSX and Gateway for *.3DS or *.CIA. *.3DS homebrews can be launched like every other game through the GW menu. CIAs need to be installed with DEVMENU.
Most of the current applications are released in all three formats.

Im looking for a (good) Video player on the 3ds, are there any? (No Ninja)
the best you can get is already build-in on the camera app that comes with every firmware (that is not ancient) If you are at 4.0 or newer your camera app can play 3d videos.
The only restriction is that it has to be on the right format.

There really isnt a good alternative to watch things on the 3ds, without slicing it up in 10 min parts, or using Ninja?
