All youtube videos or guides I can find are by stupid 9+ year olds thinking merging ISO's are combining the rar files that make up each ISO turning it into ONE ISO... I see nothing ANYWHERE about how to merge 2 separate ISO's into one. I've been able to compress both ISO's but can't do sh*t in UMD GEN or POWER ISO to merge them into one. Am I supposed break the ISO's back down to their rar files or other components and somehow combine them? Does anybody know just what I should do? Thanks for any help

Now that's a weird question indeed.
Makes me think about those pirate compilations on the NES or the PS2, or more officially Metroid Prime Trilogy and Sonic 1&2 (those pirates have simply programming knowledge to make it load each game differently)
If a game is programmed to use multiple isos, and you want instead to make it as a single iso, you need to modify the programming of the game itelf, which isn't easy. You'll need high ASM and reverse-engineering know-how, or use a tool that someone with that experience has done before (i.e. Sky's iso merging tools for FF Type-0).

Ok, my turn to ask a question:
Why would anybody want to do that? (given it's obvious devs used separate disks because they had to -no space-, not because they're enjoying wasting money on extra disks)

Yeah I have Sky's files but do I just apply the files to one folder? All it says is to combine both ISO's then replace the files he gives us... *sigh* maybe I'll just replace the files in the second disk cuz I don't know what to do...

Yeah it's basically to combine 2 disks into one

1. Open your FF Type-0 disc 1 in UMDGen.
2. Navigate to the PSP_GAME folder.
3. Delete ICON0.PNG
4. Right-click in some empty white space in the folder window and go to Add > Existing Files.
5. Find ICON0.PNG that you downloaded from the merged files from Sky's blog, and add it in.
6. Navigate to PSP_GAME\SYSDIR\UPDATE\
7. Delete EBOOT.BIN and PARAM.SFO
8. Right-click in some empty white space in the folder window and go to Add > Existing Files.
9. Find the EBOOT.BIN and PARAM.SFO that you downloaded from the merged files from Sky's blog, and add them in.
10. Navigate to the PSP_GAME\USRDIR\ folder.
11. Delete yellow.pkg and yellow.fsd
12. Right-click again in some empty white space in the folder and go to Add > Existing Files.
13. Find the yellow.pkg and yellow.fsd that you downloaded from the merged files from Sky's blog, and add them in.
14. Save your merged ISO.

If you still can't get it with that, then I'm not really sure what to say...

You have 6 wrong BTW eboot.bin go's in PSP_GAME\SYSDIR not update and the update folder is worthless
and PARAM.SFO go's in PSP_GAME ;)

If you only replace the one in the SYSDIR folder and try to load the ISO, it'll crash at startup. However, only replacing the one in the UPDATE folder lets it run perfectly fine. So it seems it does use the one in the UPDATE folder.

It never did crash on me works fine for me I even optimized it using UMDgen and that 0 all in that folder

Of course mine was converted from PSN version to ISO
but on Sky's blog I have had people report lockup for only doing update

That's why then, you deleted the UPDATE folder, thus no new files, so it uses the one in SYSDIR. Of course if you delete the newer one, it'll use the original in SYSDIR.

I tested the original ISO I made with update their then after it worked correctly I then used UMDgen to zero to save over 100M of space

I do not know what is wrong with your ISO to check it UPDATE folder but if anyone has trouble with the way I do it then I will tell them your way maybe the rip of UMD is different then PSN version

I have both on my desktop right now and both work with PSP and ppsspp

you don't need to delete the yellow files, EBOOT.BIN and ICON0.PNG inside the iso. You only need to replace them in their proper places so that the file list of the game doesn't alter. Just only delete the BOOT.BIN and UPDATE folder.
