    I have a new wii.. v4.0 and lu64+

I have homebrew, bootmii (as ios), and preloader. I have used the trucha bug restorer to downgrade ios15, install ios36, and restore ios15.. after which I installed cios 13b..

I'm using NeoGamma and WiiFlow usb loader. The usb loader on both WiiFlow and NeoGamma will load rock band fine, but neither will pick up the instruments. I have also tried via disk on NeoGamma with the same results.

I have installed SoftChip (the RockBandLauncher.wad) and still no dice. It says I need IOS232.

Reading around.. I've seen that you need to install IOS37 as IOS232.. When I did the steps downgrading ios15, installing ios36, then restoring ios15.. I also tried to install IOS37 as IOs37, but got an error-- so I just skipped over it as it wasn't necessary at the time.

But now I'm trying to find out how to get IOS232 on here.. will the TBR install IOS37 as 232?

Does anyone know how I can get this to work?

    Thanks =)

what exactly is your problem ?
instruments are not recognized when you plug them ?
if it is the case , try cIOS rev13a insteed of 13b
    and try hermes cIOS

PS : not sure it will solve your problem , but you can give it a try , it costs nothing ^^

I'm using Rock Band 2.. so wireless instruments. The blink blue when I turn the wii on. They keep blinking when I load usbloader. Still blinking when I load Rock Band 2..

But as soon as I press the sync button on either the wireless adapter or an instrument-- the wireless adapter stops blinking and the instrument blinks indefinitely (well.. until it times out). Even the mic doesn't work which has a direct connection.

I'm downloading rev13 and rev12 now. When I install a cios, will preloader be uninstalled?

***Edit: Rev13 did not solve anything. Same problem. I can't be the only person that has RockBand2 and a new wii? They've been out for quite some time now.. someone has had to have had this problem before...?

    Rev12 did not help either.

I'm not sure what the cios has to do with this.. the cios provides usb support for usb drives, as far as I can tell. Instruments worked fine back in the day when I used Cios Rev7 or so..

I need to find out if I can install IOS37 as IOS232 on my wii.. I don't want to cause any sort of brick by doing so, but it appears that is what softchip needs to run the instruments.

Unless there is another way to allow instrument usb support without the need for softchip (in a newer backup loader or usb launcher)

    Thanks for the reply. =)

there is a "rock band launcher' by mrkinator somewhere here on the forums -- that loads off the disc, not USB drive, but it works with instruments. for USB drives, you can install uLoader by Hermes which also comes with an ios installer which lets you use USB instruments. once you get that IOS in you can run RB with instruments from other launchers as well as long as they support (i believe -- IOS223) like USB Loader GX and configurable usb loader.

a thing to note -- if you use a usb loader to launch rock band and you download DLC, the DLC will need to be redownloaded if you try to use a disc, and vice versa. I'm sticking to the disc so I can use RawkSD [IMG]

I searched for uLoader and went to the site, but seeing as I can't read spanish.. it's not really much use to me because I can't read the instructions. And I haven't found the download link for v2.5... I clicked on the link, but it just redirects me to a random place in the forums.

And I looked at the site posted, KiiWii.. what exactly am I supposed to be looking for? Your link pointed to page 13, but I don't see anything like the problem I'm having on that page. The softchip there on page 1 was released in November.. will that one work on a new v4.0 Lu64+ wii?

Ok I found an english uloader download and I'm installing the cios.. what ios should I install it to? The default option is 249, but I'm sure there's something else that I already installed to 249.. so should I overwrite it, or does it need to go somewhere else?

Also.. do I just need to install this cios? I don't really need/want the uLoader if I don't need it. I'm using WiiFlow now and it's pretty sweet. Also, if I decide to go with disks, can I just install the cios and use the disk with NeoGamma?

I hope I am not way off here but if your having trouble with rb2, just be sure to start the game without the controller in the guitar. After you click through a few intro movies and get to a menu, plug the guitar in.

AFAIK the guitar is the only instrument working in usb loader.. but again, i may be way off.

I'm not sure about with RB instruments, but with GH:WT instruments everything works including usb mic in RB2 and GH:WT/SH. I didn't have to do anything special to my system: 3.2u/preloader/bootmii(ios)/cios38r12/usbloaders.

I can load the games with the wiimote plugged into the guitars/drums with no problem. Just can't navigate the usbloader menus.

Thanks, but no dice. I'm assuming that by "plug the controller into the guitar," you simply mean plugging the wireless adapter into the Wii.

Plugging the wireless adapter in after the menu loads doesn't do anything at all. The blue light on the wireless adapter doesn't even blink.

I am using Rock Band 2. And it appears that getting them to work didn't involve this much effort on older systems. But I am on a v4.0 LU64+ system. So it doesn't work like this at all.. so I need something else in order to get the instruments to work..

P.S. I'm not sure what either of you mean when you say plugging the wiimote into the instruments.. my instruments are the remote..

Eh ?? You do have RB2 (or GH:WT) instruments don't you ? Or are you saying you're trying to play RB2 with Wiimotes ?

I haven't played it in a while but RB2 was detecting my USB mic fine when I played it last using Loader GX. Don't have any other instruments to check the other stuff works.

As for the cIOS ... cIOS is not just about getting the loader to recognise the USB HDD. Early versions (rev10 IIRC) meant it detected the USB HDD but at the expense of 'blocking' access to any other USB device attached to the Wii. This was fixed in rev12, or possibly rev13 (and by Hermes' cIOS 222/223). From these revisions of the cIOS, and on, you could use USB HDDs and other USB devices (LAN adaptors, instruments) at the same time.

I do have rock band 2. No I'm not trying to use wii remotes-- which is where the confusion arose from. One of the replies said "be sure to start the game without the controller in the guitar" And seeing as my guitar is the controller, I didn't know what that meant. And the other said "I can load the games with the wiimote plugged into the guitars/drums with no problem." And again.. I do not have instruments that allow the plugging in of a wii remote.

Rock Band 2 instruments are the remote.. I've seen add-on knock off type instruments where you need to plug in a wii remote to work, but I have the original instruments that act as a remote in and of themselves.

I do have cIOS 13revb installed at the moment. I have installed it twice with success and my instruments are still not working. It can't be a problem with the wireless adapters either because even the usb mic doesn't work.

So.. there must be something different in the new revision of the wiis that cIOS 13 doesn't fix. Is there anyone that has a LU64+ wii with v4.0 that has gotten RB2 to work?

if you are using usb peripherals, you need to install hermes 223, end of story, they wont work otherwise...before your last post, i dont think anyone knew what your controllers were, as you hadnt mentioned

also, what the hell is a wireless adapter?

Well.. in Rock Band 1, the instruments were hardwired to the console. In Rock Band 2, there is a wireless adapter that you plug into the back of the Wii that sends the wireless signal to your instruments-- which allows them the ability to not be hardwired to the console.

And why does everyone that says Hermes say a different number after it? The one I have downloaded is 222, and I've seen people say all sorts of other numbers after it. Also, in one of my previous posts I mentioned that upon installing the Hermes cIOS that it asked what IOS to install to and that I was unsure.

Install it to the default location, 249? Or does it need to go somewhere else?

Are you referring just to using RB instruments with RB1/2? If so that may be correct, but you can use usb peripherals with Wani's cIOS r12 and up just fine. I use a usb mic with all of the games that use mics just fine (GH:WT/SH, RB2, Sing it, etc).

Thanks for the response, but I've heard that countless times. Obviously this is not working for me. I'm using Wani's cIOS 13b. Which version/serial do you have on your Wii? I am using a LU64+ wii with v4.0. There is quite possibly a different method that one must use to get the instruments to work on newer Wiis?
