Hacking How to make Game Guides for the in-game menu of DSTWO

let me try to explain this

for every single icon, there is a corresponding .ini file in /_iMenu/_ini
the title of the .ini does not matter, but you should name it the same as the application that it's loading for organization's sake

This is what DSGame looks like

icon=/_imenu/_images/dsgame.bmp
mask=/_imenu/_images/dsgame_mask.bmp
name=DSGame
file=/_dstwo/dsgame.nds
dock=1

The first line is for the picture, which you should place in /_imenu/_images

the second line is the mask, which is was makes the edges smooth for all of the icons, this can be the same mask for each icon, it does not need to be copied over and over (this can universally be "/_imenu/mask.bmp")

the third line is what the game will be named within iMenu when you load it up

the fourth line links to the file that you are loading, in this case dsgame.nds

the last line is only included if you want that icon to be placed on the dock, only 4 icons can be on the dock

I have no idea how to organize them, it seems to be when they were placed in the /_imenu/_ini folder

yes it does take a long time to set up but the result is awesome

ok so, before I go ahead and make a full tutorial (in a different thread of course), I'd just like to know if anyone is interested in an iMenu set-up tutorial, as I feel it's too difficult to set up for n00bs

the imenu isn't that popular
maybe because spinal released it and dissapeared
maybe it's because people don't know how to set it up
some say it's too slow

I think you should make one..it would help out the noob
and add a skin section, that might help draw people in

I don't know why...I personally really like the iMenu. I don't think it's hard to set up if people actually bother to read the txt files that come with it.

OK, i downloaded BatchDPG and AviSynth, put them in the same folder together, and i tried to convert a sample video.

this is what happened. (With the recommended settings)

Conversion failed. Open C:\users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos\Wildlife.wmv".avs in a media player and take not of this error message.

What am i doing wrong?

This is what i got in the error log when i opened it up

Edit: what am i supposed to do with the decoder?? All three programs are in the same folder....it still gives me the error code. IDK what im supposed to do.

if your getting dpg you should find a converter that uses DPG3 and DPG4

Terminator i got it working with Xilisoft, i can watch vids now!!!

The only bad thing is you have to pay for it.....Luckily i had some money....

Edit: The converter makes all possible dpg formats.
