Hi guys, does anyone know how to handle .iso files?
I made an ISO from a WII U game I own.

How can I now play/install this game on my WII U?
I have homebrew installed, which app can I use? What should I do?

Thanks you!

The WiiU does not produce files with the extension ".iso"
if you meant ".wud" (which is the extension used for wiiU game disc dump), then you need to extract its content with different tools on computer and install the extracted files to your console's internal memory or a WiiU formatted HDD.

But it's over complicated to go that route.
It's a lot easier to just use a homebrew which will extract the needed files from the disc you own instead of making a full 23GB dump.

1. get the appstore homebrew on your SD card.
2. launch it and get disc2app and WUP installer GX2 from it
3. launch disc2app to extract the game from the disc to the "app" format directly to your SD card.
4. launch WUP installer GX2 to install the extracted files (no worry, they are already in the correct format and folder)
5. you can delete the files on your SD:/install/ folder, they are not needed anymore.

6. you can launch the game you installed without the need of a CFW because :
- it comes from a disc
- it's the same region than your console

7. You need to launch a CFW (like Haxchi or CBHC) before launching or installing a game with WUP installer if :
- it's a game from another region

and of course if you get games illegally, if :
- it comes from a game which doesn't exist as disc (eShop only for example)
- it contains a DLC you didn't officially bought

i do believe OP used his computer optical drive to backup the wii u game..
is the wii u like the wii? because special stuff in the disc you require either the console or a special optical drive compatible with the disc?

I don't remember if it's not readable on PC.
I can just suppose it's like the gamecube and wii disc, the format is scrambled and not possible to read on a computer.

godreborn : I think you meant "wud" not wad.
wad is the package format used to pack files together on Wii.

I thought wad files were full isos including the padding. I seem to recall almost all of them being around the same size - 23GBs or so.

Thank you for your Answers!!

Sorry! I ment wii not wii u. I have a wii u. And the ISO of my WII game: Party 9. I also Extracted some ISOs from my Gamecube games. I guess that I need some WII and Gamecube emulators then right?
How to proceed there?

ah, so all we said wasn't useful haha

So, Wii game :
you need either a USBLoader on vwii, and WiiBackupManager to put/convert the iso to an external FAT32 HDD.
or
the Wiiu vc injector script, if you want to install to a WiiU formated HDD (not FAT32) and play with the gamepad (not all games working with gamepad?)

I'd recommend the USBLoader method for compatibility and features reason.

for gamecube games, you can't use Wiibackupmanager, but you can either play with a loader on vWii or on Wiiu (but only SD card is possible) or on WiiU injected to WiiU HDD format.
