how do i install PKGs?

i have the PS3 PKG File on my NTFS formatted thumbstick, and the PS3 PKG is placed in a folder named Packages.

when i go to the Package Installer on the PS3's XMB it says no Packages found.

i already used the NTFS Prep App.

and the my PS3 can detect my ISOs games stored on the tumbstick, but not the PKGs that i want to install. am i missing something?

any clue? thanks.

thanks got CFW installed on the new Hard Drive.

idk how i would get Multiman to copy the ISOs off the old Hard Drive and put them on a NTFS USB Drive when Multiman's File Manager cant find the thumbstick. so i am going to just FTP the games to my PC, unless someone else knows of anything else that might work.

mmCM doesnt seem to let me Copy PS3 ISOs from a NTFS Drive to the internal PS3 HDD, is there a fix for this or do i just recopy all the games back to my PC, and format the NTFS Drive back to Fat32?

Multiman is no longer updated. I'd suggest webman mod, IRISMAN, or managunz

i give up using NTFS on PS3 it sucks. i'll just use fat32 from now on.
I've never used ntfs, don't even use an external hdd. You can install to internal hdd as well. Fat32 will copy big files to an internal cache, so there's no point in using as twice the space is used.

i transfer the PS3ISOs to a Fat32 Thumbstick from my PC to my PS3, and copy them over via MMCM to the internal Hard Drive.

I think so, like a zip file. I don't recall which backup loaders are compatible.
a few more questions
1. IS there a way to make Hen auto Enable, when booting up the PS3?
2. Can i change PS3 Cover Art that is displayed?
3. also can i change the PS3 Splashscreen when booting back to the Playstation 3 Logo, instead of the Hen Logo?

Thanks.

I have no experience with Hen. It's not a coldboot exploit so I don't think autobooting is possible. You can change the icon and and background, neither is encrypted. If you mean the gameboot, then you can change it. It's in the custom_render.rco. sound will not work iirc, because it requires a patch to an encrypted file (think it's game_ext.sprx)

is there a coldboot exploit for PS3? if so how hard would it be to change from Hen to the coldboot exploit?

I don't think bguerville toolbox is online right now, so you can't do anything without a hardware flasher.
oh yeah thats right, oh well, stil ltrying to find out how to get the Playstation 3 bootanimation/splash screen back, i was hoping it would be a setting under webman mod (setup) but that would be too easy i guess.

If you mean the boot screen when you start the system, it's the coldboot.raf. it's in dev_blind/vsh/resource.

You could decrypt an official update pup, take the file from there, and ftp it over.
