Duke or others players who managed to get it work with the Windows method : Which usb dongle do you use ?

Since that neither my zydas, no name and dlink work with vm linux and windows method (I'll investigate again later regarding the d-link + vm linux), I plan to buy 1 which is compatible.

I tried with my laptop with its internal wifi but since that's an Atheros like TheCocoCici, I get a BSOD like her (no matter which driver i use /cry)
Have you checked both adapters with maccheck?

I don't know if it matters or not, but I'm using the router method. I have two home wireless networks. And if I set up just my normal (not homepass) WiFi in the 3DS, it works like a charm. If the 3DS is closed, it homepasses, if it's open it connects to my normal, uninterrupted home WiFi and I can play online.

Hi, I used the Linux Machine Method 1 but i'm stuck:
when I do this command
Code:
sudo /tmp/nzone.sh BASE256,GBATEMP
It says to me "no wireless interfaces found" even if i'm connected to the internet with wi-fi; I followed the guide perfectly and also installed hostapd, here is what i've done:
Code:
davide@davide-U-100:~$ sudo wget -O /tmp/nzone.sh http://goo.gl/39fq1n

Have you checked both adapters with maccheck?

Yes, at least for my laptop with the atheros card : as far as I can remember, I got the same as for TheCocoCici (Maybe I'll try to install your vm on my laptop)

But for my sagem and the no name dongle, there is no driver for Win7 (Most of the websites which pretend to have the drivers give .exe suspicious files)

I managed to get the driver for my Zydas but it's not recognized as a wlan interface (At least by maccheck and nzone)

Both 3 don't seem to be in the list of driver that you added with your VM.

I wish I could find back my tp-link dongle.

So my only others options are to investigate further with the vm+my dlink driver issue (BUt with my kids around, it's hard to focus) or buy another dongle (I was to buy a belink yesterday to test but the merchant told me that if I open the box, i get -20% on the refund ...)

The problem is that script requires a dedicated adapter for gomepass, it can't be used for internet access at the same time, that is why it reported no wireless interfaces found.

Awesome, thank you very much for a solution. I'll try and figure out what most of what you said means (:P) and see how I go.
Heres a guide assuming you already connected to your router by SSH
EDIT: It appears the issue with resolv.conf not saving on reboot arises because of DNSmasq so you should disable it on the secondary router (the one hosting the attwifi wifi network)
Source: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=658984

EDIT2 : Okay disabling DNSmasq doesn't fix anything for me.
You have to connect to your router by SSH and then after you login type
Code:
vi /etc/resolv.conf
and see something like this, but with most likely a different IP address listed
b47f47ccad.png

you should then type
Code:
dd
to delete this line.
47e42b2491.png

Again you need to know the Internal IP Address of your gateway router, the one directly connected to the modem and has a WAN IP Address. Make sure to
record the internal IP Address and not the WAN IP Address, your internal IP address typically has the form 192.168.X.X
In my case its internal IP Address was 192.168.4.1 so I would type this exact string of characters
Code:
inameserver 192.168.4.1
Make sure you do not type in "192.168.4.1" and type the IP Address of the gateway router.
3f1bcdb67c.png

Press your escape key and then type
Code:
:wq
this command will save the file and exit the vi editor.
Now typing the "wget..." command specified in duke_srg's guide should work and no longer tell you /tmp/nzone.sh not found

Make sure you type the wget command immediately after, because the IP Address listed in nameserver will return to being incorrect after you reboot/apply changes to the router.

duke_srg, I got a T-LINK WN722N, opened up the box, and followed the steps on page 224 for the VMWare method. I have not added any special drivers for the T-LINK, or anything like that.

I installed VMWare, did the Connect function on the wireless device, and rebooted (a few times now), and this is what I end up with:

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I am unable to find any new connection with my 3DS, for what it's worth.

Looks like there is no compatible driver included with the VM image

I'm running firmware version 8.1 on my 3DS XL as I'm planning to use Gateway 3DS. For this reason, I cannot update my device.

The issue is, if I ever connect to an internet connection (Eg spotpass networks) on my 3DS it will download the software update and nag me to install it for the rest of eternity.

Is it possible to do this without my 3DS downloading any updates or should I avoid doing this entirely?
