The IPS Version seems to have a bigger manual book than the TN variant. So if you go to your local store, then check out the weight from the NEW 3DS XL's. If one of them is heavier than the rest, it should be a NEW 3DS XL with IPS Panel.

If you already bought a New 3DS Xl, can you look at your manual? Is it thick as a thumb and has IPS Panel?

Please take part in the survey.

Sir what is this for.

*Umm I need to to weigh 3DS console boxes*

My EUR (Aus) 3DS has an IPS screen, the manual ("operations manual including quick-start guide", Australian version) is only millimetres thick. If your IPS manual is thicker, then what does it have that the TN manual doesn't? More languages?

These are my manuals (I have an IPS N3DS XL). EUR region.

The Instructions Manual has 222 pages and the Quick Start Guide has 22 pages. If anyone can open the box before purchase, you can confirm with this. Not sure if with other regions the manual is the same or not cause this one has Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

It is. The box itself is quite heavy with it.

How to check if your screen is IPS: if it doesn't look washed out from an extreme angle, it's IPS

Yeah totally, because screens need dedicated instructions...
No, of course not. That's because Nintendo wanted to send a coded message; it ultimately means "you just got an IPS system, you'll be able to feel that awesome (stability) screen and its brilliant colors, but if you're not strong enough to carry those 20 extra grams, you're not skilled enough to use it".

Well my day one AUS EU n3dS XL came with a 72 page Manual + quick start leaflet, I'm pretty sure its IPS because i compared it side by side with my regular TN 3DS XL and it holds the colours pretty well at a big angle.
So this might be true in some places like EU?
I don't have a scale :( but you can open the package and check at the store right?

My US N3DSXL which has a Top IPS and a Bottom TN, the manual was just shy of 100 pages total. Like 94-95, somewhere around there.
