Hacking How to compress update data?

I need to compress the update data from The Wonderful 101 to the standard .wud format, so I can modify it to work with my translation project.
How can I do it?

update data doesnt work like that. You'd have to decrypt it - if you use JNUSTool by @Maschell iirc you can just load the update up and download it decrypted.

no.. decryption is extraction. use JNUSTool or use Maschell's Java NUS Library

Currently there is no way to recreate a .wud file. Why do you even want the .wud format? For installing you need the .app files anyway (and these can be created with NUSPacker)

That doesn't make any sense.
.wud is 1:1 disc dumps, and game updates were never released on disc (with the exception of the original BotW update)
For what purpose do you need it in .wud format?
You can merge update data and game data and pack it into .app format but you can never get it back into .wud because we don't have the encryption keys for it.
