Pretty common here in Euro area, I'd say we have one to three for sale any given month in the thrift store I work in. Also pretty handy, adjustment permitting, for slicing harder sausages; salami, wursts, chorizo etc...

Don't beat yourself over it, bread slicers are really convenient. I've seen some high tech slicers in Lidl (that thing feels like entering a cheat code), but this is all you really need and it makes nice and consistent slices.

Awesome! I recommend going for GBI if you can load homebrew (clearly, if you can run Swiss to actually use ETH2SP1). All I can say is that it's almost perfect, the only issue being that no matter what you do, you can't set frame buffer to 0 frames, otherwise you get a very unusual and distracting kind of tearing. It works, but some time later, it looks like you're playing underwater :wacko:

As for ETH2SP1, enjoy this shiny new toy too! I personally opted for a memory card slot-based ethernet adaptor, but all ports essentially work the same so I'm sure it's no different in practice.

Also, I think I already told someone about it earlier in the thread, but assuming you'd like to play games like Mario Kart Double Dash using the adaptor, here's a link to MKDDOnline mod so that you don't need to dig in some random Discord server to play it ;)

Edit: Is this deja vu? Was it you who mentioned the ethernet adaptor recently? If so, I'll be damned :lol:

Over several emails back and forth, RGC explained that their suppliers hadn't come through with the circuit boards, then when the circuit boards showed up they said they still hadn't received the exterior cases yet. Finally, today, I received an email cancelling my order altogether. Just like that. Yes, they refunded the money, but I had also ordered a Saturn SCART cable that was in stock and could've been shipped back in June, but they held onto it to ship them both together. All cancelled. RGC blames new tariffs (Trump) as making it financially untenable to do this deal. But if they had shipped the order on time in July, as originally promised when I paid, those new tariffs wouldn't have been in effect yet. Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed. Their own fuckup caused the delay, so they should've honored the deal. Just an FYI for anyone shopping retro cable suppliers.

That’s a big reason why I usually just use Insurrection cables. They are just as good and they’re in stock quite a bit at Stone Age Gamer.

My Nintendo Switch Online controllers came in today so now I got every single one. Wanted to get them while they are still in stock as I had credit left over from trading the Xbox Series X in to GameStop after the X25 bullshit. Was able to get five Switch 2 carts and these two controllers since you can use trade credit for eshop funds and Nintendo lets you use that now on their physical shop. Also being a pro member is like BJ’s Warehouse where you get money off ($95 for a $100 card) eshop cards.

So now after getting the US ones, I still definitely got to try and get the Japanese Mega Drive one as it’s six button (why the fuck didn’t we get THAT here?!) and the Famicom ones since I’m a huge fan of the Famicom. I’d like to get also the Super Famicom controller too but that’s not a high priority for me since I more prefer the American console and button colors (always like Purple).

I'll keep that in mind. I'm not busting my wallet on cables until I scrounge a proper, wellmade SCART switchbox though.

Assuming that SCART>JP21 adapter I just ordered works out, I'm fine for a while. I have a "Selecty21" switcher, made by Micomsoft in Japan, same company that made the Framemeister. It's only 3-input, 1-output, but that's all I really need. And as far as build quality, it's probably the best passive switchbox ever made. Just, it's JP21 only.

My reason for (eventually) migrating to SCART is my old Framemeister's still ok, but there are better upscalers out there now (Retrotink for example), and they're all SCART.

Ouch, my hands hurt from even watching the NES controllers. Retro aesthetics - yes, ergonomics - oh well...

Pro fitness kettlebell. Pretty sure it's Argos own brand, but it's a cast iron weight, not really much you can do wrong. Paint is never great on them, but who cares about that.

Reviews seem mixed, but I like Metroid and Currys have it on clearance, so it was only £20.
