I Need To Change Where NDI Saves It's Temp Files Because Of This:

There is not enough space in the user's TEMP folder to extract the software.
TEMP path: C:\Users\MarioMasta64\AppData\Local\Temp\
Minimum space required: 2.3 GB
Space available: 3.5 GB

What I've tried:

ndi.bat
>@echo off
>Color 0A
>title Nintendo Developer Interface Launcher - MarioMasta64
>if not exist D:\temp mkdir D:\temp
>if not exist D:\temp\appdata mkdir D:\temp\appdata
>set "temp=D:\temp"
>set "appdata=D:\temp\appdata"
>echo temp: %temp%
>echo appdata: %appdata%
>echo starting program
>"C:\Program Files\Nintendo\Nintendo Dev Interface\NDI.exe"
>echo program end
>pause

yet it stills says C:\Users\MarioMasta64\AppData\Local\Temp\ despite output being:
>temp: D:\temp
>appdata: D:\temp\appdata
>starting program

should I just change full on where the user profile is saved? does anyone know how it chooses to save? (hopefully not hardlinked)

also changing even userprofile doesnt seem to help :/ is there anything else i can do?

It's most likely hardcoded. Also, why is the medium that your AppData folder resides on so tiny?
Because I have to program on my netbook until I can get a new hdd cable for my main pc. its 32gb.

You could try creating a symbolic link.
that's what setting the temp / appdata / userprofile variable does. and it doesn't work so I'm guessing its hardcoded.

I already changed userprofile (I can do this by setting a variable in a batch file super easily) it doesn't work.

Symbolic links are different to setting the environment variable.

I've used them many times to override hardcoded links.

well Nintendo developer portal is down for now so I will test this sometime soon thank you for this (I could use this in some of my portable projects if it wasn't for windows vista / 7 needing admin -~-)

Did you also try changing the LocalAppData environment variable?

Are you allowed to be discussing this on a public forum?

Seems like anything SDK related has you tied to an NDA with anyone about its use.

This is just specifically talking about installation, not the use of or the content of the SDK.
Alright, that's fair. I'd be concerned for his sake, Nintendo employees could potentially be watching this forum and see this person discussing things they aren't supposed to (don't know the full extent of their NDA). Thats all.

on second thought. it works perfectly till you try and install something. it still calculates space according to C:

One option might be to move something else over to the other drive to bring the size down, you could either move something like the documents folder or something like a game using steammover (a program which moves a folder and creates a symbolic link).

I have tried both separetly but not together. ill try that

I already have a way to save steam games and everything else to my external drive (I made portable steam launcher that handles that)

I'm not talking of anything that would be violating NDA (ive read it thouroughly I cant afford being sued lol)

the only thing on my drive btw is my OS and NDI lol and most all NDI is moved to D:

Have you checked for anything else which could clean up space e.g. Browser cache (i use ccleaner), system restore backups (using disk cleanup), disable hibernate, etc?
