I have a save file (.sav) that I want to apply and use with a new ROM of the same game. I thought if I kept the original save file in the root of the micro SD card and applied the new ROM everything would sync up. When I booted up the new/alternate ROM I was forced to start a "new game". So basically, is there a way to use my save data with this new ROM or must I use the original ROM from whence the save data came from?

Thank you,
Zegapain.

Is the rom named the exact same as the sav file?

You should make sure that the .sav file name matches the .nds file name (i.e onefun.nds and onefun.sav). Check your AKAIO settings so that the default extension is .sav (Start, System Options, File System Settings tab, Save Ext., .sav). Make sure the game and the save are in the same folder.

What games are you trying to use?

The game in question is Pokemon White version.

What I do is let the game create a new save file, pull the original save file onto my desktop and rename it the exact same thing as the new save file, delete the new save file, and drop the original save wherever the save is supposed to be
