you guys making me jealous. all we get in the UK is slow releases, crap internet speeds and uber-copyright laws.

one day in Brazil and you'll stop whining about your crap internet speeds.

seriously.

I have nothing to hide about me pirating. I tell everyone. Not random people like a bus driver, but everyone else. Same with me modding my stuff. I'm proud to show my all matte black DS Lite and my arctic blue translucent one.

I never knew there was a reason to keep quiet about it.

This.

I see absolutely no reason why one shouldn't be talking about it.

I've spoken about it on twitter, facebook, kotaku, gamespot, youtube, gametrailers, just to name a few.

Luckily, he doesn't live in Brazil.

you do have a point there.

however, we can't use stereotypes. in some places, our internet isn't that bad: it is still good for the price we are paying. nothing compared with USA or Europe, though.

I only talk about it if the topic comes up. I just don't randomly go on about "HEY, I HAVE A FLASHCART/MOD/WHATEVER" to people.

I normally don't talk about hacking because all my friends are such noobs, and they're always want me to buy a flashcart for them and set it up and everything. I get really pissed off talking to people that know nothing about video games/hacking/computers and are trying to act like they do.

I tell all my friends if they ask me, "Go look it up online. Buy the thing yourself, and figure it out by yourself. Just like I did." Because I can't stand helping them when the just mess everything up.

With pirating, I normally get games months before people. With Pokemon Black and White, everyone at school is freaking out, and when they ask me what version I got, I just say, "Neither, I beat the game six months ago." I'm open with it if someone asks me, but I normally don't talk about video games at my own will.

Sort of half and half. I've modded consoles before, like my both of my friends psp. That's really all I've done.

My parents had someone else get their pirate movies before I picked it up, I then proceeded to hack the wii, and various other things.

only if someone asks .
i laugh in the inside a bit , whenever people talk about the R4 still when it comes to flashcarts .
i try to explain to them about other things like an AceKard or SuperCard or even an M3 but all they say is "nope , nope , R4"

I'm very open about the fact that I have modded consoles. I try to keep the piracy among friends though.

I've built up a reputation to the point that if I wanted to, I could have people pay me to mod their consoles. I would never be so stupid to, though. The moment I accept payment for modding consoles, is the moment I exit the gray area start breaking the law.

this. I sometimes wish i never told anyone cause now they're all like "how do u get the chect for x game" and "when will *insert game here* be available?" and then they turn into supernoobs when i try to explain to them that they can't use dsi stuff and they ask "well can you hack it then?" seriously, someone actually asked me that. Another example is when someone went and bought an r4i and it was my fault when it didn't work!

oh and about internet speeds, only ppl living in/near big towns/cities get good speeds, mine's usually about 250Kbps and on a good day i get 6Mbps, but thats quite rare. I can still imagine it's worse in Brazil but USA seem to get mega-speeds 32Mbps? I dream of that.....
