Hacking How often do you backup your nand?

I frequently change my wii and add a lot off stuff....

The last time i backed up my nand was about a month ago, just before changing my Wii Theme....

Just one backup with clean Wii System Menu.
If something fails/bricks I'd do a second beackup, then fhalsh the old one and get the old files from the second backup, but never had errors which forced me to do a restore.

My last backup is over a month old. So time to make a new one I guess
But I've updated to bootmii 0.3, that release seems to have some bugs when restoring a nand backup

My last back-up is from 22 July 2009. I will do it again when I install something new and important on my Wii.
No need to do it every month or so.

I always backup before large changes, like Wii System Menu Updates. Other than that I never dump my NAND regularly.

I back it up before I make any ios changes. I don't do custom themes or any of that crap.

I keep multiple versions of it. 1 clean with nothing but HBC channel installed, one 3.2, etc.

I have never backed up my NAND. I have bootmii IOS and there is no "Boot" in Bootmii/IOS. They should really call it something without BOOT in the name because clearly it will not Boot if installed as IOS. A name based on MINI ... MINIMII or something

If you can't restore the backup why back it up in the first place????

You can restore your NAND with Bootmii as IOS.

Preloader --> loads bootmii --> restore NAND.

You should really have a backup.

yes, bootmii as ios can restore a backup
but you shouldn't rely on that as your protection from bricking
if you mess up your system, you might not be able to get into the ios bootmii at all

I totally agree. Your best protection against bricking is not doing anything stupid.

Research what you want to accomplish. Never uninstall anything. No CIOSCORP.

That being said, still better to have that backup, than nothing at all.

I usually backup once a week. Maybe more if I'm going to install something.

I backup before any major/brickable installs or updates, which works out to be about once every two weeks. I also keep extensive backlogs of nands taken at useful times in my Wii's history, so I can bounce backwards to a particular setup at any point.
