I was wanting to play some games like resident evil, metal gear solid, and finally fantasy V11. If anyone knows if these are playable let me know, thanks.

depends on which platform you are going to run Retroarch: on pc there are plenty of better psx emulator but they all require u to ''find'' psx BIOS while Retroarch is 100% legal. the Epsxe for example supports adjustable FPS, better compatibilities, able to recognize all iso's formats and Action Replay.

That really depends on which core you use in RA. The Beetle core is one of the best PS emulation options available, it's based on mednafen but has more options and is much easier to use. Not all the cores in RA work without a bios and even the ones that do don't work as well without one as with.

Assuming the OP means 3DS though, no PS emulation will work well, the 3DS is just not powerful enough.

Doesn't matter, neither are powerful enough.
The old, correct. For the foreseeable future, RA PS1 can't run at full speed on the o3DS. However for the n3DS, it can run full speed, but the games can't be graphic heavy, and sound has to be turned off. You might get it running full speed through the homebrew menu, aka 3dsx format, but it'll run better loaded from cia format.

True, I suppose its a matter of opinion but with those conditions imposed I'd consider that not viable for general use.

Yes. Since it has some trouble running on the n3DS, that implies it'll be really clocking the CPU, which might mean it'll drain the battery a lot quicker than most homebrew. Plus, most of the good games are graphic intense in many key areas, such as FF7 FMVs and Battles.

Here's a compatibilty list for PCSX reARMed on N3DS: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KDOo9FncjtlMbd24HJmLPEfJBVr0xjkUJYZ_cDTGvaA/edit#gid=0
Some games were tried on older versions of the core, so keep in mind that the may perform better now. While I can't speak for the other two games, I'd say that FF VII is definitely playable. The only perfect games I remember trying is Abe's Odyssey (60 fps) and Alundra (~60 fps), but that was quite some time ago.

Edit: Here's my thread about the compatibility of PCSX on 3DS https://gbatemp.net/threads/pcsx-rearmed-compatibility-list.489357/#post-7689196

Topic Creator shall provide clear information cauz he wants our helps.
I meant for the 3ds. Although since it isn't going to be too perfect I'll use a ps emulator on my phone or pc.

It was waiting for you to order another one.
Seems like, your PSU was waiting for a partner.

@SylverReZ find me ONE community that is free of drama and politics. even video games forums (like this one) have politics section. and for some reason gamers still take consoles/brands wars seriously. even as a kid i never took the console wars bait despite being a nintendo kid.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
one of the reasons i deleted all my social media accounts, reddit account (although i was rarely using it) etc was to get away from this shit.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Vetusomaru, Sadly, not all communities like to play nice. Forums are pretty much dying despite Discord amongst other social media being available.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
i only kept my twitter accounts and only because many of the artists i like share their art only/mostly at twitter.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
lots of discord groups (even the big ones) are also dead for some reason.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Twitter is way too shittier.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
that's why i added some firefox addons to block shit like twitter trends.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Discord, on the other hand, moderation tends to not be very nice in video game communities from what I had experienced.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
nah, discord is also a shithole. discord is good only if you have your own community with your own rules. or if you re lucky to find some groups that arent shitholes.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
as about forums, when i recently revisited some old forums i used to be regular and seeing how immature most members still are i was like "Yeap. Nothing of value has been lost.". Unfortunately it's the good, comfy forums that ended up dead or shut down, especially because of internet centralization.
