I have one the old models and just kind of been contemplating if I should try to or not yet.

I currently have 7.01ofw and a few games on the switch but I've thought about trying this out. Honestly some of the homebrew stuff does seem appealing like video player and stuff.

How is the scene for doing this currently ? I know due to my fw version I would need to use Fusee Gelee type exploit currently.

found compatible console, do clean nand and boot00/01 backup, mess with cfw (put some files on sd and go) and if you ever want to go back just restore that backup. Hacking your console is very very easy, as i mentioned just do a backup first and the rest is to put some files on a sd and go.

As Jorgesd said, make nand + boot0/1 backup, download CFW and go

I backed up my nand with hekate. Backed up my boo0/1 too. That should be your first thing. I’m pretty sure the process hasn’t changed. Also, make sure you have 29.1 gb free for the backup. I use sxos. Many like atmosphere, check it out. Either way, just know you’ll probably get banned. Nintendo has gotten smart....er.

hacking switch is so easy to everyone.
firstly. you have to buy at least 128gb or higher mircosd , the RCMloader jig&dongle kit. the dongle also can be replace by your android phone.
second. follow kosmos's installation guide such as format SDcard. copy all-in-one kosmos SDfiles. jig RCM and inject payloads ......

Why do they need a sd card that big?

Why not just use a usb cable and pc?

Third there are multiple cfw's, what if they want to play xcis from a hdd?

how is that painfully small? 64gb is more than enough for me personally.
It really comes down to how many games you want available at the same time. Some people can't be happy with less than 500 GB's worth, and some will do just fine with 64 GB. I'm in the middle, myself. :D

How many of those games are you fucking playing? (which are installed to that system) Jesus.

Convenience factor is important to me, so I like to have as many on-hand as possible. Biggest hog is NBA 2K19. Base game is 30GB, the latest update is another ~30GB.

they need big size sd for installing lots of games.
switch can portable playing outside. it's too hard to find a pc nearby. so rcmloader dongle is more convienient for anyone. aslo you can use android phone instead.

sxos & kosmos are best cfws. sxos can support xcis from a hdd. but it's not free and not open source

at least 128gb

Big? Did you mean just for a nand backup? Because 128GB was painfully small when I started out with that size.

at least 128gb

I have all 3 cfws and maybe half a dozen games I actually play despite having pretty much the entire library and a 64gb card does fine

Kosmos isn't a cfw it's a bundle/repack of a cfw. atmosphere is more aimed towards devs at the moment (i.e for end users you need th patches and everything) the next user friends cfw is reinx just copy the files and it just works. sx is good if you have xcis that's about it

This is like hearing people talk about SSDs back when they were sata 2 or sata 3 first came out :D I honestly don't care about online playing with my switch.

I have a 64gb right now annoying is the switch I bought came with a few stupid digital download games so can't resale those. I only have Zelda BOTW, Xenoblade 2 and Hyrule warriors physcial right now as I've been wanting to open it up why I bought one right after found out about the exploit.

How big is say the average switch game ? I know ps3 games varied a bit and ate up a shit ton of my storage drives.
