If you're referring to the 1080p LCD version, that's a very good TV. I had the 37" up until a few weeks ago and my brother and a friend both have the 42" version.
Pros:
- very clear and crisp picture when set to "dot for dot" (1:1) picture setting
- good black levels
- very strong reds
- clear whites (after you play around with the color temperature setting)
- bright backlighting
- very customizable picture settings
- you can do some other interesting things from the TV's menu options
- very decent sound from the factory speakers
Cons:
- strong reds, while having a beautiful depth to them, will bleed
- the greens are rather pale (opposite of reds)
- playing with the tint does not fix the unbalance between the red and green, only screws up the other colors
- red crush (all blacks have a hint of red to them, most noticeable in very dark scenes)
- quite slow to switch between resolutions (takes about four seconds two switch from an HD source to an SD source and vice versa)
- the auto-backlight switching is too noticeable and cannot be fully turned off; I simply changed the range to only +/-1 to limit its noticeability
All in all, it's a very good television. I've owned five different brand HDTVs over the last four years (long story) and many of my friends and family members also own HDTVs of various brands. Out of all of the LCD HDTV brands, in my humble opinion, Sharp is about as good overall as Sony, and Samsung is the best by a fair margin. But Sharp is great. I wouldn't object to having one if I didn't already have a 46" Samsung.
